GREENVILLE, S.C. – The 2025 Conference Carolinas Men’s Lacrosse Championship opened with one quarterfinal contest on Tuesday. The University of Mount Olive and won their contest to advance to Friday’s semifinal while the Barton College-Emmanuel University quarterfinal was moved to Wednesday.
The third seeded Trojans held a narrow 2-1 lead over sixth seed Young Harris College after the first quarter. However, Mount Olive opened the game up with eight goals in the second quarter to take a 10-2 lead at halftime. Mount Olive extended their lead to 14-4 going to the fourth quarter. The Mountain Lions cut into the deficit in the fourth quarter, but Mount Olive won the contest 17-8.
Bemjamin Vanderkley and Hudson Karasek led Mount Olive with three goals and one assist each while Brayden Rieger handed out four assists. Colburn Connelly led Young Harris with four goals.
Mount Olive advances to take on second seed Belmont Abbey College on Friday at 1:45 p.m. The semifinals and final will be hosted at Mount Olive.
The other quarterfinal between Barton and Emmanuel was postponed due to weather and will be played on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Barton.
The winner of that game will advance to face top seed North Greenville University in the first semifinal on Friday at 11:00 a.m.
