SUMTER, S.C. – The 2025 Conference Carolinas Women’s Tennis Championship got underway with five matches on Friday at the Palmetto Tennis Center. Barton College and Belmont Abbey College both advanced to Saturday’s semifinal matches.
Fifth seed Belmont Abbey started the day with a 4-0 first round win over eighth seed Converse University. Fourth seed University of Mount Olive topped ninth seed Chowan University 4-0 while sixth seed Young Harris College defeated seventh seed Francis Marion University 4-0 to complete the quarterfinals.
In the quarterfinals, Belmont Abbey defeated Mount Olive 4-2 and third seed Barton topped Young Harris 4-3.
Saturday’s semifinals start at 9:00 a.m. at the Palmetto Tennis Center with top seed Lees-McRae College taking on Belmont Abbey and second seed Erskine College facing Barton.
