MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The 2025 Conference Carolinas Women’s Lacrosse Championship semifinals saw the top two seeds, Belmont Abbey College and the University of Mount Olive advance to Sunday’s championship contest.
In the first semifinal, top seed Belmont Abbey jumped ahead of fourth seed Young Harris College 3-1 after the first quarter. The Crusaders then opened up an 8-2 lead at the half with a solid second quarter. Young Harris tired to come back in the third quarter, outscoring Belmont Abbey 4-3, cutting their deficit to 11-6. However, Bemont Abbey then pulled away in the fourth quarter to take the contest 15-9.
Addyson Greenspan led Belmont Abbey with four goals and one assist. Young Harris had four players each score two goals.
Second seed Mount Olive grabbed a 5-2 lead after the first quarter, and later led 10-2 at the half. The Trojans pulled away in the second half, outscoring the Lions 7-1 in the third quarter and 4-0 in the fourth quarter to take the contest 21-5.
Mount Olive was led by four goals from Katie Broom, Logan Hibbard and Lena DeFlippo with Broom handing out three assists. Demi Czynski led Emmanuel with two goals and one assist.
Belmont Abbey will take on Mount Olive on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. in the championship game hosted by Mount Olive.
