SUMTER, S.C. – Lees-McRae College won 2025 Conference Carolinas Women’s Tennis Championship, defeating Erskine College on Sunday at the Palmetto Tennis Center in Sumter, South Carolina.
The title for Lees-McRae is their third in program history and first since winning back-to-back titles in 2001 and 2002.
Top seed Lees-McRae took the doubles point with wins, 6-4 at No. 2 doubles for Miranda Noor and Alexa Mazzei 6-4 and at No. 3 doubles for Caroline Brothers and Lina Ngassi Saqout by the score of 6-2.
In singles play, Pati Vedia Sanchez earned a 7-5, 6-3 win at the top flight while Ngassi Saqout earned a 6-2, 2-6, 6-3 win at the third flight. Second seed Erskine took wins at No. 4 and No. 5 singles with Caroline Brothers of Lees-McRae winning the No. 6 singles slot 7-5, 7-5, giving Lees-McRae the 4-2 win.
Lees-McRae earns the automatic bid into the NCAA Division II Women’s Tennis Championship. The selections will be announced on NCAA.com on Monday, May 5 at 8:30 p.m.
