INDIANAPOLIS – In the third set NCAA Regional rankings, two Conference Carolinas members are ranked women’s tennis as well as softball. There is also one team ranked in each men’s and women’s lacrosse as well as men’s tennis. In the second set of baseball rankings, Conference Carolinas has six members ranked.
The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process and will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Baseball, Softball, Men's and Women's Tennis , and Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse Committees up to the NCAA Championship selections.
In women’s tennis, Conference Carolinas champion, Lees-McRae College is ranked sixth with a record of 15-3 while Erskine College is ranked eighth with a 15-6 record.
Conference Carolinas champion, Belmont Abbey College is ranked ninth in men’s tennis with a record of 15-7.
In softball, Conference Carolinas champion Francis Marion University, is ranked first with an overall record of 47-4 and region mark of 45-4. Barton is also ranked ninth with an overall record of 27-23 and region mark of 25-19.
Conference Carolinas women’s lacrosse champion, University of Mount Olive is ranked eighth in the south region with an overall record of 11-7, going 10-6 in region contests.
In men’s lacrosse, conference champion, North Greenville University is ranked 10th in the south with a record of 12-5.
In baseball, six teams are ranked starting with North Greenville at second as the Trailblazers are 42-11 overall and 38-11 in region games. Young Harris College is fourth with a record of 37-13 while Belmont Abbey is sixth at 34-14. UNC Pembroke owns a 28-20 overall record and 26-18 mark in region games as they are ranked eighth. Mount Olive and Francis Marion are ranked ninth and 10th, respectively. The Trojans are 29-19 overall and 27-19 in region games while the Patriots own a 39-11 record.
