Mount Olive leads the 2025 Conference Carolinas Women's Golf Championship after opening round

SNOW HILL, N.C. – The University of Mount Olive ended the first day the team lead at the 2025 Conference Carolinas Women’s Golf Championship. Abigail Cheney of Shorter University and Tamara Brito of Young Harris College are tied atop the individual leaderboard after the first round.

The championship is being contested at the par 72, 5863-yard course at Cutter Creek Golf Club.

FIRST ROUND RESULTSLIVE SCORING

The top three teams are within three strokes as Mount Olive’s 311 is atop the leaderboard. UNC Pembroke is in second at 313 and Barton College is fourth at 314.

Individually, Cheney and Brito carded rounds of one-over 73 to hold the lead. Chessa Lee of UNC Pembroke and Terra Schmitt of Barton are one stroke back at 74.

The second round of the 2025 Conference Carolinas Women’s Golf Championship will get underway at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, April 7.
