SNOW HILL, N.C. – For the second straight year, there is a first-time champion following the Conference Carolinas Women’s Golf Championship. Erskine College won the first team title in program history while Keely Johnson of Emmanuel University won the individual title.
The championship was contested at the par 72, 5863-yard course at Cutter Creek Golf Club.

The Flying Fleet finished the tournament with a total of 930 after shooting 307 in Tuesday’s final round. Emmanuel University and the University of Mount Olive finished second and third with scores of 935 and 936, respectively. Each shot 300 in the final round.
Abigail Cheney of Shorter University and Keely Johnson of Emmanuel University tied atop the leaderboard with tournament totals of 224. Cheney shot 74 in the final round while Johnson carded a two-under 70. Johnson was named the individual medalist, claiming the title on the third playoff hole. Johnson is the first Emmanuel women’s golfer to win individual medalist honors.
Erskine earns the automatic bit into the NCAA Division II South Regional hosted at Chattahoochee Golf Club in Gainesville, Georgia May 5-7. The final regional rankings will be released on Friday, April 11 with the selections being announced on Monday, April 28.
