GREENVILLE, S.C. – Both Erskine College and Lees-McRae College competed in the NCAA Division II Women’s Tennis Championship on Monday. Both teams dropped their opening round duals.
Sixth seed Lees-McRae fell to third seed Columbus State University 4-0. The Cougars won all three doubles matches before taking the second, third and fourth singles flights to clinch the dual.
Eighth seed Erskine fell to top seed Catawba College 4-0 as the Indians took the top two doubles flights to earn the doubles point. Catawba then won singles matches at the top flight as well as third and fourth flights to clinch the dual.
