INDIANAPOLIS – Three Conference Carolinas baseball teams earned berths into the NCAA Division II Baseball Championship as was announced on Sunday night. Belmont Abbey College will host a regional as the second seed in the southeast region.

Belmont Abbey captured the Conference Carolinas Baseball Championship title, helping lead the Crusaders to the second seed in the southeast regional. The Crusaders (40-15) will host Lenior-Rhyne University (43-12), the University of North Georgia (39-15) and Carson-Newman University (37-17) in a regional from Thursday, May 15-Sunday, May 18.
Belmont Abbey will face seventh seed Carson-Newman in the first round at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday while third seed Lenior-Rhyne faces sixth seed North Georgia at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Two Conference Carolinas teams, Young Harris College and North Greenville University will compete at the other regional hosted by Catawba College. Fourth seed Young Harris (40-15) faces the fifth-seeded Trailblazers (43-13) at 7:00 p.m. in Salisbury, North Carolina. Top seed Catawba (42-12) faces eighth seed Lander University (42-13) earlier in the day at 3:30 p.m.
Both regionals are double elimination and are scheduled to conclude on Saturday, May 17 or with the if necessary game on Sunday, May 18. The winner of each regional will square off in a super regional on May 22-24. The eight region champions then compete at the championship final on Friday, May 30-Saturday, June 7 at USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina.
