BAC, NGU have seasons end in 2025 NCAA Division II Baseball Regional

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Both Belmont Abbey College and North Greenville University had their seasons come to an end on Saturday in the 2025 NCAA Division II Baseball Championship regional championships. North Greenville earned a win before falling to Catawba College while Belmont Abbey dropped a contest to the University of North Georgia.

Eighth seed Lander University jumped ahead of North Greenville with a run in the first inning. However, the fifth-seeded Trailblazers responded with three runs in the third inning, two on a Tristan Salinas home run. Lander added a run in the sixth inning before a two-run home run from Jake Sears in the eighth inning gave North Greenville the 5-2 victory.

North Greenville the advanced to face top seed and host Catawba where the Trailblazers scored three runs in the first inning. Thomas Powell drove in two with a single to highlight the frame. Catawba scored on in the second before erupting for six in the sixth inning to take a 7-3 lead. The Indians posted a pair of two-run doubles to highlight the sixth. Josh Willimas lifted a two-run home run for the Trailblazers in the eighth inning, pulling North Greenville within 7-5. However, the Indians added on a run in the eighth to take the contest 8-5.

Sixth seed North Georgia scored one run in the first inning to lead second seed Belmont Abbey. The Nighthawks then added three in the third inning to take a 4-0 lead. Caleb Burr hit home runs for Belmont Abbey in the fourth and sixth innings, but the Nighthawks extended their lead and took the contest 8-2.
