GREENVILLE, S.C. – Charlie Bussey III of Francis Marion University and Ryan Weller of Belmont Abbey College were selected National Collegiate Baseball Writers’ Association (NCBWA) Southeast Region Player and Pitcher of the Week.

Bussey, a redshirt sophomore from Graniteville, S.C., hit .538 across three games in the Conference Carolinas Baseball Championship with five runs scored and four home runs, while driving in 10 runs. The Patriot slugged a whopping 1.462 with a .625 on-base percentage. Bussey earns NCBWA Southeast Region Player of the Week for the second time this season (Feb. 25).

Weller, a sophomore from Phoenix, Ariz., put together the best start of his Belmont Abbey career, throwing a complete game in the win over Emmanuel to send the Crusaders to the final day of the conference tournament. Weller allowed one run on four hits, striking out seven Lions in 119 pitches.
