Erskine, Lees-McRae qualify for NCAA Division II Women's Tennis Championship

INDIANAPOLIS – The NCAA announced the 2025 NCAA Division II Women’s Tennis Championship field on Monday and two Conference Carolinas teams qualified. Lees-McRae College and Erskine College will both play in the championship next week.

Lees-McRae (15-3) won the Conference Carolinas Women’s Tennis Championship crown and earned the sixth seed in the regional. The Bobcats will face third seed Columbus State University (15-5) in the opening round in Dahlonega, Georgia. The regional is hosted by second seed University of North Georgia (18-6), who will take on seventh seed Georgia College and State University (15-6) in the first round.

In the other regional Erskine (15-6) earned the eighth seed as they will travel to Salisbury, North Carolina to face host and top seed Catawba College, who is 23-0 on the season. This marks the second straight season the Flying Fleet have earned and NCAA Division II Women’s Tennis Championship berth. The other opening round match will feature fourth seed Flagler College (19-5) and fifth seed Wingate University (17-5).

The first round will take place on Monday, May 12 with the winners of the four first round contests squaring off in the second round on Tuesday, May 13.

There are 16 preliminary round sites, with the 16 winners advancing to the final site wher matches begin with the first round on Wednesday, May 21 and continue through the championship match on Sunday, May 25 at 9:00 a.m. ET at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Florida.
