GAFFNEY, S.C. - The North Greenville Trailblazers ended their 2025 season in the first round of the NCAA Division II Men's Lacrosse Championship after falling to the 4th ranked Saints of Limestone University with a final score of 28-10 in Gaffney, South Carolina.
Things got off to a rough start for the Trailblazers as Limestone pulled away early with the only four goals of the 1st quarter. They would go on to score four additional goals in the 2nd quarter before North Greenville was finally able to get on the scoreboard with an unassisted goal by Jaren Steinman. Limestone would respond with two more goals, and Caden Castle put NGU's second goal on the board with 6:34 remaining in the half.
The Saints took over from there, finishing off the half with four more goals to take a 14-2 lead into halftime. LU continued the scoring in the 3rd quarter by scoring the first two goals. However, NGU would put up a fight throughout the 3rd quarter, going on a 6-2 run including two goals each by Caden Castle and Nick Meier to close the deficit back down to ten. Limestone would score the final goal of the quarter to take a 19-8 lead into the 4th.
Ayden Sizemore would put the opening goal of the 4th quarter on the scoreboard, and after two goals by the Saints, Jackson Reich would score with 12:09 remaining in the game. From there, Limestone dominated the remainder of the game, scoring the final seven goals to ultimately end the evening with an eighteen point victory.
Caden Castle finished his impressive season with three goals. Nick Meier led NGU in total points, posting two goals and three assists. Cole Jenkins recorded four ground balls and a caused turnover.
With the 2025 season completed, the Trailblazers finished with a 12-6 overall record with a perfect 7-0 record in conference play. NGU currently ranks 18th in the USILA 2025 Men's Coaches Division II Poll.
