GREENVILLE, S.C. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced their Team Academic Award sponsored by INTENT, and Conference Carolinas had 12 programs recognized.

In all, a record number of more than 1,450 collegiate and high school programs maintained a year-long GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale to earn the award for their classroom excellence during the recently completed academic year.

Conference Carolinas had 11 programs honored, including both men’s and women’s programs for Belmont Abbey College and Emmanuel University as well as Emmanuel’s women’s beach program. The Emmanuel women also earned the Team Academic Honor Roll distinction, which celebrates programs in the top 20 percent of GPAs for their division.

Converse University, Erskine College Francis Marion University, Lees-McRae College, University of Mount Olive, UNC Pembroke and North Greenville University had their women’s teams recognized.
