WEEK 5 SCHEDULE
- UNC Pembroke posted their second win over a top 25 team, defeating 20th-ranked Valdosta State 31-0.
- It was the first time the Blazers were shutout since 1991, ending a streak of 395 games.
- Chowan won their conference opener, scoring with 4:09 remaining to top Shorter 30-29.
IN THE RANKINGS
- UNC Pembroke broke into the rankings this week following their second win over a top 25 opponent. The Braves are ranked 25th in the AFCA poll and 24th in the D2Football.com poll.
STATISTICAL HIGHLIGHTS
- Another big statistical week as North Greenville set program and conference passing records against 13/17 West Alabama. Dylan Ramirez accounted for five touchdowns, including four passing.
- Malique Frazier of Chowan accounted for 187 yards receiving in the Hawk win at Shorter.
- UNC Pembroke posted three interceptions, one returned for a touchdown by Jamiel Davis, and forced five total turnovers in their win at 13/17 West Alabama. The Braves also held the Blazers to 20 yards rushing.
