Mount Olive wins both men's and women's 2026 Conference Carolinas Indoor Track & Field Championships titles

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The 2026 Conference Carolinas Indoor Track & Field Championships wrapped up on Monday with the University of Mount Olive winning both the men’s and women’s titles.

MONDAY RECAP
In all, 24 meet records and 11 conference records were set in the two day championship.

Grace Davis of Converse set the meet record in the women’s 60 meter dash with a winning time of 7.38 seconds while Futoria Harris of Mount Olive was under the previous record time at 7.40 seconds.

Mount Olive’s Haniyya Johnson set the meet record in the women’s 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.64 seconds.

Four men went under the men’s 200 meter dash record with Converse’s Devron Davis taking first in 21.26 seconds.

Serenity Harvey of Mount Olive won the women’s 200 meters in a record time of 23.98 seconds.

Two athletes went under the men’s and women’s 400 meter records with Converse’s Isaac Gilmore taking the men’s title in 48.11 seconds and Essence Slate of Mount Olive won the women’s title in 55.25 seconds.

Dustin Scruggs of Southern Wesleyan and Brandon Waller of Barton both finished under the previous men’s 800 meter record with Scruggs winning in 1:54.17.

Janara Bryant of Mount Olive won the women’s triple jump in a record leap of 12.65 meters.

SUNDAY RECAP
Sara Kristin Lydsdottir of the University of Mount Olive started the meet by winning the women’s pentathlon with a meet record 3448 points.

The top two finishers in the women’s distance medley relay broke the meet record with Lees-McRae College’s winning time of 12:33.01 topping Converse University’s time of 12:36.48.
Southern Wesleyan University won the men’s distance medley relay with a meet record time of 10:14.41.

Cynthia Thomas of Mount Olive won the women’s weight throw with a mark of 16.28 meters while her teammate Haniyyah Jonson won the women’s long jump with a meet and conference record of 6.09 meters.

Francis Marion University’s Rileigh Lacy won the women’s pole vault, clearing 3.32 meters.

Merritt Smith of Southern Wesleyan won the women’s 5000 meters with a time of 18:18.17 while Converse’s Ander Vera Moleres won the men’s 5000 meters with a time of 15:02.06.

Antoine King of Mount Olive and Gary Parker of UNC Pembroke posted meet record marks in men’s weight throw as King finished first at 18.63 meters and Parker taking runner-up at 18.61 meters.

Abe McNelly of Belmont Abbey College won the men’s pole vault, clearing 4.50 meters.

18 meet and five conference records were set on Sunday.

Johnson of Mount Olive set a conference and meet record in the women’s 60 meter hurdles time of 8.60 seconds. Mount Olive’s Essence Slate set a meet record in the women’s 400 meters with time of 55.88 seconds.

In the women’s 60 meter dash, Grace Davis of Converse set a conference and meet record with a time of 7.38 seconds. In the men’s 60 meter dash, Converse’s Dorian Bomar set a meet record with a time of 6.70 seconds.

Both Serenity Harvey and Heavan Roberts of Mount Olive ran under the previous women’s 200 meter meet and conference record time. Harvey finished in 23.98 seconds and Roberts in 24.21 seconds.

Six runners ran under the meet record in the men’s 200 meter dash with Converse’s Devron Davis taking the top spot at 21.32 seconds.
