FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK - Previous Winners
Catherine Green | Francis Marion | Junior | Throws | Tulsa, Oklahoma
Green, a native of Tulsa, Okla., posted two Conference Carolinas marks and established a new FMU record in the discus, as Francis Marion competed at the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge this weekend. She registered a third-place finish in the discus with a personal-best toss of 42.68 meters, moving to second overall in the league this season in the event. In the shot put, Green placed ninth with a season-best mark of 11.78 meters, which also ranks second the conference.

Angel Agyeman | Barton | Sophomore | Sprints | Greensboro, North Carolina
Agyeman won the 100 meter dash at the Elon Invitational with a time of 12.44 seconds. She was also a member of the 4x100 meter relay team that finished in 47.37 seconds.

Ryan Hunter | Francis Marion | Graduate | Javelin/Sprints | Blythewood, South Carolina
A native of Blythewood, S.C., Hunter set a new program record and hit the NCAA Provisional mark in the javelin, as FMU competed at the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge. On his first attempt, he registered a toss of 65.31 meters to claim first place in the event. His mark ranks fifth in NCAA Division II this year.

Jahmal Jones | Ferrum | Sophomore | Sprints | Martinsville, Virginia
Jones won the 200 meter dash and finished runner-up in the 100 meter dash at the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Classic. He covered the 200-meter distance in 21.58 seconds and the 100-meter distance in 10.47 seconds.
SOFTBALL
PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Previous Winners
Gracie Hughes | Young Harris | Senior | Pitcher/Infield | Woodstock, Georgia
Hughes helped lead the Young Harris offense to a week that saw the Mountain Lions go 5-1. She recorded four multi-hit games, posting a .529 batting average with nine hits, three runs scored and nine runs batted in. She added three doubles and one home run. She posted two hits in each end of the doubleheader sweep of Shorter, and drove in three runs in game one. She then posted three hits in two games against Emmanuel before closing with a pair of hits in a 3-1 win over 10th-ranked Francis Marion. Both hits went for extra bases, including a game-winning two-run home run.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK - Previous Winners
Julia Moore | Young Harris | Freshman | Pitcher/Utility | Canton, Georgia
Moore made four appearances for Young Harris last week, posting an ERA of 0.34 in 20.1 innings pitched. She tossed three complete games and allowed only one run on 11 hits and struck out 19. She started with seven innings, allowing only two hits in a win at Shorter before earning the save in game one against Emmanuel. She recorded the final four outs, including two strikeouts in the 4-3 win. She then tossed all five innings, allowing only five hits in the game two Mountain Lion win. Moore closed the week with seven innings where she allowed one run on four hits in a 3-1 win over 10th-ranked Francis Marion.
BASEBALL
PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Previous Winners
Charlie Bussey III | Francis Marion | Junior | Infield | Graniteville, South Carolina
Bussey III, a native of Graniteville, S.C., posted a .455 batting average with two home runs, two doubles, four runs batted in, six runs scored, and five stolen bases, as the Patriots played four nationally-ranked games last week. He reached base 13 times after going 5-for-11 at the plate and drawing seven walks. On Tuesday, Bussey III reached base in all five plate appearances after going 2-for-2 with a solo homer, a double, three runs scored, and three walks versus second-ranked Catawba. In the three games series against ninth-ranked Young Harris, he finished 3-for-9 with one homer, three runs batted in, three runs scored, four stolen bases, and four walks. Bussey III hit a go-ahead two-run home run in game three in the bottom of the seventh to clinch the series over the Mountain Lions.

Aydin Palmer | Francis Marion | Junior | Pitcher | Effingham, South Carolina
A native of Florence, S.C., Palmer improved to 5-1 on the mound following an impressive eight-inning performance in a series-clinching 3-1 win over ninth-ranked Young Harris in Saturday's series finale. He yielded just one earned run on four hits with eight strikeouts and one walk issued. He retired the side in order four times and forced two double plays while facing 26 batters. The Mountain Lions entered the contest as the second-best hitting team in NCAA Division II (.378 average) and third-best scoring team (12.9 runs per game).
ACROBATICS & TUMBLING
ATHLETE OF THE WEEK - Previous Winners
Olivia Sison | Coker | Senior | Top/Tumbler | Yardley, Pennsylvania
Sison competed in 12 heats, including the team event in Coker's win over Belmont Abbey last week, setting three season-high scores. She set season-high scores in toss heats 2 and 3, scoring 8.85 out of 9.40 in heat 2 and 9.40 out of 9.90 in heat 3. She then set a Coker season-high score of 9.200 out of 9.55 in the duo tumbling heat while the Cobras scored a season-best 53.475 out of 56.00 in the tumbling event. Sison also posted a tumbling open pass score of 9.625 out of 10.00. Coker opened the meet by winning all four compulsory heats, including a season-high tumbling score of 8.60. She also helped the Cobras to a score of 9.50 out of 10.00 in acro heat 3.
SPECIALIST OF THE WEEK - Previous Winners
Zoey Franklin | Lander | Junior | Base | Chapin, South Carolina
Franklin was solid for Mars Hill in the pyramid event as the Lions defeated Converse and Newberry. The Lions had start values of 10.00 in all three heats as Franklin helped the Lions score 9.80 in pyramid heat 1, 9.40 in heat 2 and 9.90 in heat 3. Mars Hill set the program record with a pyramid event score of 29.10, and for the third straight meet, the Lions improved their program record score in heat 1. Heats 2 and 3 also set program highs.
