GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) announced their All-America men’s basketball teams and Carl Cleveland was selected to the first team.
D2 CCA ALL-AMERICA TEAMS
Cleveland, the Conference Carolinas Player of the Year and Conference Carolinas Men’s Basketball Championship Most Valuable Player, garnered region player of the year and first team honors. He was tabbed NABC/D2 CCA National Player of the Week on January 6 and garnered Conference Carolinas Player of the Week twice and defensive player of the week once.
Cleveland currently ranks second in the region and eighth in NCAA Division II with 15 double-doubles. He also leads the region and ranks fourth in the country with 258 field goals while his 208 free throw makes rank fourth in the region and sixth in the nation. The senior ranks second in the country and leads the region with an average of 26.4 points per game while ranking fifth in the region with an average of 8.3 rebounds per game.
Cleveland led Young Harris to their first Conference Carolinas Men’s Basketball Championship, first NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Championship appearance and first NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Championship win as they defeated top seed and host Anderson University in the opening round.
