INDIANAPOLIS – Lees-McRae College and Francis Marion University learned their destinations and opponents in the 2026 NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball Championship.
The tandem will travel to Harrogate, Tennessee for the NCAA Southeast Regional Championship. Lees-McRae is the eighth seed and will face top seed and host Lincoln Memorial Univeristy. Francis Marion is the sixth seed and will face third seed Coker University.
NCAA DIVISION II WOMEN’S BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP BRACKET
Lees-McRae won their first Conference Carolinas Women’s Basketball Championship final, earning the automatic bid. The Bobcats are 24-7 and went 15-5 in Conference Carolinas play. Lees-McRae faces Lincoln Memorial who is 25-4 overall and are ranked 13th in the latest Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) rankings.
The winner will face the winner of fourth seed and eight-ranked Columbus State University (25-4) and fifth seed Carson-Newman University (21-10).
Francis Marion is 19-9 on the season, having won the Conference Carolinas East Division and earned the top seed in the Conference Carolinas Women’s Basketball Championship before falling in Saturday’s semifinals. The Patriots will take on Coker who is ranked 20th in the latest WBCA rankings and owns a 25-6 record.
The winner of that contest will take on the winner of second seed and 15th-ranked Lenoir-Rhyne University (24-5) and seventh seed Augusta University (21-9).
The opening round contest will take place on Friday, March 13 with the second round taking place on Saturday, March 14. The regional championship match will be on Monday, March 16.
