Young Harris will face top seed Anderson in opening round of NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Championship

INDIANAPOLIS – Young Harris College learned their destination and opponent in the 2026 NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Championship.

The Mountain Lions will travel to Anderson, South Carolina to face host and top seed Anderson University in the first round. Young Harris won their first Conference Carolinas Men’s Basketball Championship title on Sunday afternoon.

Young Harris is 22-8 on the season going 16-4 in conference games will be the eighth seed in the southeast region.

Anderson, the top seed is 29-2 on the season, going 20-2 in South Atlantic Conference (SAC) games. The Trojans won both the SAC regular season and tournament titles and are ranked seventh in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) poll.  

The opening round contest will take place on Saturday, March 14 with the second round taking place on Sunday, March 15.

The winner of that contest will face the winner of fourth seed Lenoir-Rhyne University (24-8) and fifth seed University of North Georgia (22-7).

The other half of the bracket features opening round matchups of second seed and 25th-ranked Lander University (25-5) and seventh-seed Lincoln Memorial University (19-11) and third seed Catawba College (23-8) and Columbus State University (22-8)

The regional championship match will be on Tuesday, March 17.
