Straub posted eight goals in a pair of North Greenville Conference Carolinas wins last week. She posted four goals in a 15-13 win over Emmanuel before adding four goals in a win over Southern Wesleyan. She added five ground balls and 13 total draw controls with 11 coming against Emmanuel. Staub added five caused turnovers, four coming against Southern Wesleyan.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Previous Winners
Giavahna Gasdia | Mount Olive | Senior | Defense | Havre de Grace, Maryland
Gasdia was instrumental on defense for Mount Olive last week, collecting 12 ground balls, seven caused turnovers and nine draw controls. She posted four ground balls and three caused turnovers in a 9-8 win over 12th-ranked Wingate before posting three ground balls, three caused turnovers and five draw controls in a win over Shorter. She then posted five ground balls, one caused turnover and four draw controls in a win over Lee.
