FLORENCE, S.C. – Ferrum College captured the 2026 Conference Carolinas Baseball Developmental Championship, defeating Belmont Abbey College 9-5 In 15 innings on Monday night.
Belmont Abbey scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to knot the score at three. The score remained the same until Ferrum scored six runs in the 15th to take a 9-3 lead. Belmont Abbey plated a pair of runs in the bottom of the 15th, but Ferrum got the final out to take the contest and the championship 9-5.
Carson Wetmore was named the championship MVP.
Earlier in the day, Belmont Abbey topped Barton College 15-5 in the first semifinal and Ferrum defeated Southern Wesleyan University in the second semifinal.
