GREENVILLE, S.C. – Prior to the start of the inaugural Conference Carolinas Women's Flag Football Championship, the league announced their first all-conference awards.
The all-conference awards were chosen by the league's head coaches.
Payson Shreeve of Ferrum College was selected Conference Carolinas Player of the Year. She ended the regular season with 5,081 passing yards, completing 65.5 percent of her passes. She also threw for 71 touchdowns and he longest pass of the year was 73 yards. On the ground, Shreeve ran for 264 yards on 96 attempts for 12 touchdowns. On the defensive end, Shreeve accounted for six tackles and one interception.
Barton College's Sawyer Rigdon was selected Conference Carolinas Offensive Player of the Year. Rigdon completed 65.7 percent of her passes for 3,235 yards. She also threw for 60 touchdowns with a long completion of 76 yards. Rigdon also rank for 279 yards on 61 carries.
Evonne Bruestle of Wingate University was tabbed Conference Carolinas Defensive Player of the Year. She accounted for 69 tackles, 38 coming for a loss. She also added 34 sacks, two interceptions and three pass breakups.
King University's Alyssa Ramos was selected Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year. She accounted for 887 receiving yards on 115 receptions for an average of 7.7 yards per catch. She also posted a long reception of 41 yards and added four touchdowns. Defensively, Ramos accounted for 59 solo tackles and four assisted tackles. She added seven tackles for loss, including two sacks. Ramos also accounted for 10 interceptions and 11 pass breakups.
Wingate head coach Joe Schlager was named Conference Carolinas Coach of the Year. He guided the Bulldogs to an 8-2 overall record, going 8-1 in conference games. The Bulldogs won the regular season championship and are the top seed in the Conference Carolinas Women's Flag Football Championship.
