GREENVILLE, S.C. - Conference Carolinas is gearing up to host its 2026 Men’s Tennis Championship at the Palmetto Tennis Center in Sumter, South Carolina starting Wednesday, April 22 and concluding Saturday, April 25.
The University of Mount Olive earned the top seed and bye into the semifinals with a KPI of .240. The Trojans won the east division and went 11-0 in league matches and 13-4 overall. Belmont Abbey College also earns a bye to the semifinals as they took the second seed with a KPI of .228. The Crusaders finished as the northwest division co-champions and finished with an overall record of 18-16, going 10-1 in conference matches. Both of the semifinal matches will be on Friday, April 24 at 9:00 a.m.
Converse University finished with KPI of .185 to take the third seed and earn a bye into the quarterfinals. The Valkyries finished as the northwest division co-champions and finished with a conference mark of 10-2, going 14-6 overall.
The Valkyries will play the winner of sixth seed Francis Marion University (10-9, 8-4) and seventh seed North Greenville University (11-11, 5-6). The Patriots and Trailblazers will matchup in the first round at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22 and the winner will face Converse on Thursday, April 23 at 9:00 a.m.
The other two first round matchups will feature fourth seed and southwest division co-champion, Young Harris College (10-10, 7-3) and ninth seed Lees-McRae College (6-8, 3-8). Southwest division co-champion Emmanuel University (14-8,7-3) earned the fifth seed and will face eighth seed Chowan University (7-8, 5-6). Those winners will face each other in the quarterfinals with the winner taking on Mount Olive.
The fifth and sixth seeds were determined through the conference's tiebreakers as Francis Marion's KPI (.052) and Emmanuel's KPI (.051) were within .002. Emmanuel was awarded the fifth seed by virtue of a better winning percentage against Young Harris (1-1) than Francis Marion (0-1).
The championship match is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
