Chowan holds lead after opening day of 2026 Conference Carolinas Men's Golf Championship

SNOW HILL, N.C. – Following the opening round of the 2026 Conference Carolinas Men’s Golf Championship, Jonas Arnstrom Bakker of the University of Mount Olive sits atop the individual leaderboard. Chowan University sits on top of the team leaderboard by one stroke after the opening 18 holes.

The championship is being contested at the par 72, 7280-yard course at Cutter Creek Golf Club.

Chowan shot 295 to lead both the University of Mount Olive and Young Harris College who both shot 296. Barton College isn’t far behind at 297 and Emmanuel University is in fifth at 298.

Arnstrom Bakker carded a two-under 70 to lead the individual tournament by two strokes.

The second round of the 2026 Conference Carolinas Men’s Golf Championship will get underway at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, April 20.
