Emmanuel captures 2026 Conference Carolinas Men's Golf Championship title

SNOW HILL, N.C. – Emmanuel University claimed their first Conference Carolinas Men’s Golf Championship title, after shooting under par in each of the final two rounds. Shawn Benson of the University of Mount Olive earned individual medalist honors.

The championship was contested at the par 72, 7280-yard course at Cutter Creek Golf Club.

FINAL RESULTS

Following a second round of 286, Emmanuel shot 285 in the final round to take the title by four strokes over Barton College who shot 286 in the final round. Emmanuel finished with a tournament total of 869 while Barton posted 873. King University and the University of Mount Olive finished in a tie for third at 883 and Erskine College round out the top five at 884.

Benson shot four-under 68 in the final round to finish the tournament with a score of four-under 212 and win the tournament by one stroke over Barton’s Winston Knobloch. Gabriel Hull and Pietro Fenoglio of Emmanuel finished third and fourth with scores of 214 and 215. That marks the second straight year a Trojan has taken individual medalist honors as Oscar Lonnqvist took the title in 2025.

The final round of the 2026 Conference Carolinas Men’s Golf Championship will get underway at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 21.

Emmanuel earns the automatic bid into the NCAA Division II Men’s Golf Championship. The selections will be announced on Sunday, April 26. The South/Southeast Regional will be hosted at Valdosta Country Club in Valdosta, Ga. on May 7-9.
