GREENVILLE, S.C. – The 2026 Conference Carolinas Women’s Lacrosse Championship opened with a pair of quarterfinal contests on Monday. Belmont Abbey and Emmanuel University won their respective contests to advance to Thursday's semifinals.
No. 3 Belmont Abbey def. No. 6 Converse, 20-1
Belmont Abbey didn’t waste anytime lighting up the scoreboard as Katelyn Miller tallied the game’s first goal 12 seconds into the contest. The Crusaders added five more goals in the first quarter and six in the second quarter to take a 12-0 lead at the half. The scoring continued in the second half as Belmont Abbey tacked on four goals in the third quarter and 4 in the fourth quarter to take the game 20-1.
Triniti Cassidy led Belmont Abbey with four goals and one assist while Macy Lashells added three goals and one assist. Kimberleigh Hansberry also contributed three goals for the Crusaders. Summer Eddinger made six saves for Belmont Abbey.
Belmont Abbey advances to face second seeded University of Mount Olive on Thursday, April 23 at 3:00 p.m.
No. 5 Emmanuel def. No. 4 North Greenville, 12-11
North Greenville opened the scoring, but Emmanuel responded with back-to-back goals to take a 201 lead in the opening five minutes. The teams then traded goals the remainder of the period, leaving the score knotted at 4-4 after the opening 15 minutes. North Greenville took a 6-4 lead with the first two goals the second quarter, but Emmanuel responded with three straight tallies, the final two from Taylor Schubert to take a 7-6 lead at the half.
North Greenville regained the lead with the first two goals of the third quarter and led 9-8 before the Lions registered back-to-back goals to take a 10-9 lead going to the fourth quarter. The Emmanuel lead grew to 12-9 as the Lions scored the first two goals of the fourth quarter. North Greenville added two tallies in the final two minutes, but Emmanuel held on for the 12-11 victory.
Schubert led Emmanuel with five goals while Meghan Jennings and Demi Czynski posted two goals apiece. Josie Rose led North Greenville with four goals.
Emmanuel advances to face top seed Young Harris College in a semifinal on Thursday, April 23 at 12:00 p.m.
