Erskine takes 2026 Conference Carolinas Women's Tennis Championship title

SUMTER, S.C. – Erskine College won 2026 Conference Carolinas Women’s Tennis Championship, defeating Belmont Abbey College on Saturday at the Palmetto Tennis Center in Sumter, South Carolina.

The title for Erskine is their second in the last three years and third in the last six.

Fifth seed Erskine took the doubles point from second seed Belmont Abbey College with wins at the top two flights. Vale Guerrero and Ariana Jativa earned a 6-4 win at No. 1 doubles while the No. 2 tandem of Barbara Brito and Maria C. Pandovani earned a 6-2 triumph.

In singles play, the Flying Fleet came away with wins at the top two flights and the fifth flight to claim the 4-1 victory. Hanna Vasconez earned a 7-6 (7-5), 6-3 win at No. 1 singles as Guerrero took her No. 2 singles match 6-1, 6-2. Brito took her No. 5 singles match 6-4, 7-5.

Erskine earns the automatic bid into the NCAA Division II Women’s Tennis Championship. The selections will be announced on NCAA.com on Monday, May 4.
