Barton claims 2026 Conference Carolinas Men's Lacrosse Championship crown

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – Barton College claimed the 2026 Conference Carolinas Men's Lacrosse Championship title, their second in program history. The fourth seeded Bulldogs defeated second seed Lees-McRae College 15-12 on Sunday afternoon.

The teams traded goals in the opening period as each team held the advantage, but the period ended in a 3-3 tie. Barton tallied the first goal of the second quarter, but Lees-McRae scored the next two goals to take 5-4 lead at the half.

Barton started the second half with three straight goals to regain the lead and added three more following a Lees-McRae tally to take a 10-6 lead. The teams traded goals as Barton held an 11-7 advantage going to the fourth quarter. Barton extended their lead to 15-9 before Lees-McRae made a run, scoring three goals in the final two minutes. However, it wasn't enough as Barton took the contest 15-12.

Barton earns the automatic bid into the NCAA Division II Men's Lacrosse Championship. The selections will be announced on Sunday, May 3.
