GREENVILLE, S.C. – Prior to the start of the 2026 Conference Carolinas Baseball Championship, the league announced their all-conference awards.
The all-conference awards were selected by the league's head coaches.
Francis Marion University's Charlie Bussey III was selected Conference Carolinas Player of the Year for the second straight year. Belmont Abbey College's Drew Stegura garnered pitcher of the year honors while North Greenville University took home the final two awards. Connor McKee was tabbed freshman of the year while Landon Powell earned coach of the year recognition.
Bussey III garnered player of the year honors after leading the league with a .485 batting average, 94 hits and 101 runs scored. He also added 18 doubles and 18 home runs, becoming the Francis Marion all-time leader in home runs. Bussey III ranked seventh in the league with 71 runs batted in and ranked second with 54 walks. His on base percentage of .606 lead the league and his slugging percentage of .866 was second. He also ranked second in Conference Carolinas with 39 stolen bases. He was selected Conference Carolinas Player of the Week three times this year.
Stegura was stellar on the mound all season, garnering pitcher of the year honors after posting a 9-0 record with an ERA of 2.69. He ranked second in the league in both wins and ERA. He made 11 starts and tossed 67.0 innings. In that time, he held opponents to a .209 batting average and posted 73 strikeouts, a mark that ranked fourth in Conference Carolinas. Stegura was tabbed Conference Carolinas Pitcher of the Week twice this season.
In his first year on campus,
McKee had a great season, hitting .370 with 37 hits. He accounted for eight doubles and six home runs. McKee also drove in 29 runs and scored 23 runs. He currently owns an on base percentage of .422 and slugging percentage of .630.
Powell was selected coach of the year for the fourth time, the others coming in 2018, 2022 and 2023. The Trailblazers won their sixth regular season title and are the top seed in the Conference Carolinas Baseball Championship. Powell has guided North Greenville to a 42-8 overall record, going 28-5 in Conference Carolinas play.
