INDIANAPOLIS – The NCAA announced region rankings, for baseball, softball, men’s lacrosse and men’s and women’s tennis this week. Conference Carolinas had 13 programs ranked in the five sets of rankings.
The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process and will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Baseball, Softball, Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse and Men's and Women's Tennis Committees up to the NCAA Championship selections.
Men’s and Women’s Tennis Rankings
In the second third of women’s tennis rankings, Young Harris College is ranked eighth and Erskine College is ranked 10th. The Mountain Lions are 17-6 while Erskine owns a 16-8 record.
In the third set of men’s tennis rankings, Belmont Abbey College is ranked seventh, the University of Mount Olive is ranked eighth and Converse University is ranked ninth. Belmont Abbey owns a 15-7 record while Mount Olive is 14-5. Converse owns an overall record of 14-7, going 14-6 in region matches.
The NCAA Division II Championship fields will be announced Monday, May 4.
Men’s Lacrosse Rankings
Belmont Abbey remains in the third men’s lacrosse South Region Rankings. The Crusaders are ranked 12th with a record of 12-4.
Thee NCAA Division II Championship field will be announced on Sunday, May 3.
Baseball Rankings
In the second set of baseball rankings, North Greenville University is ranked first with Francis Marion University ranked fifth. Young Harris is ranked seventh and Belmont Abbey is ranked eighth.
North Greenville is 42-8 overall with a 41-8 mark in region contests while the Patriots own a 40-10 record. Young Harris is 35-15 and Belmont Abbey is 36-12.
The final set of region rankings will be released on May 6 before the NCAA Division II Championship field is announced on May 10.
Softball Rankings
In the second set of softball ranking Francis Marion is ranked second while Mount Olive is ranked eighth and Southern Wesleyan University is ranked ninth.
The Patriots own a 44-11 overall record, going 41-11 in region contests while Mount Olive is 31-25 overall and 31-21. Southern Wesleyan is 37-14 overall.
The final set of region rankings will be on May 5 before the NCAA Division II Championship field is announced on May 11.
