GASTONIA, N.C. – The second day of the 2026 Conference Carolinas Baseball Championship saw four close contests, but the top four seeds all advanced to the winner's bracket.
No. 1 North Greenville No. 9 King, 7-3
King grabbed the early lead with a run in the first before a Tommy Regan two-run double in the third inning stretched the Tornado advantage to 3-0. North Greenville responded with a pair of runs in the third and tied the game on a Connor McKee single in the fourth inning. CJ Dean gave the Trailblazers the lead with a two-out, two-run single in the seventh. North Greenville added two runs in the eighth to take the contest 7-3.
North Greenville will face fourth seed Young Harris College at 3:00 p.m. on Friday afternoon. King faces UNC Pembroke in an elimination game at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
No. 4 Young Harris def. No. 5 UNC Pembroke, 5-4 (F/10)
Jackson Morgan and Jack Enrico gave Young Harris a 2-0 lead with back-to-back home runs to start the second inning. Daniel Stephens pulled UNC Pembroke within 2-1 with a home run in the third inning. However, Enrico lifted another home run, this one a two-run shot in the fourth that extended the Mountain Lion lead. Landon Lucas ripped a home run for UNC Pembroke in the sixth inning before the Braves knotted the score with a pair of runs in the eighth inning.
The score remained tied through nine innings, but Young Harris grabbed a 5-4 lead on a Kyle Chatham sacrifice fly in the 10th. Cole Molina then retired the side in the 10th, giving Young Harris the win.
Young Harris advances to face top seed North Greenville at 3:00 p.m. on Friday afternoon. UNC Pembroke faces King in an elimination game at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
No. 2 Francis Marion def. No. 7 Erskine, 11-7
Erskine jumped ahead with a solo home run and two-run home run from Drew Potts and Ricky Dober in the first inning. The Flying Fleet lead grew to 6-0 on a two-run home run from Carson Yates and a solo shot from Mason McManus in the second inning. Francis Marion came back with eight runs in the third inning. Adrian Nina drove in two with a single before Riley Orr drove in two with a double. Ethan McAnally then capped the scoring with a three-run home run.
A Noah Hill double drove in one for Erskine in the sixth, pulling the Flying Fleet within 8-7. Francis Marion added three runs in the eighth inning to take the contest 11-7.
Francis Marion advances to take on second seed Belmont Abbey at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Erskine faces Mount Olive in an elimination game at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
No. 3 Belmont Abbey def. No. 6 Mount Olive, 13-11
Mac James ripped a two-run home run to right field to get Mount Olive on the scoreboard in the third inning. The Crusaders responded with a pair of runs in a Mason Janz double in the bottom of the inning. Belmont Abbey took the lead with four runs in the fourth inning, highlighted by a run-scoring single from Josh Wilson as the Crusaders took a 6-2 advantage.
Lane McLean pulled the Trojans within 6-5 with a three-run home run in the seventh inning. A Michael Fattore double drove in two in the bottom of the inning, extending the Crusader lead to 8-6. However, Mount Olive took the lead with five runs in the eighth inning. Rowan Watt ripped a home run before McLean gave Mount Olive a 10-8 lead with a grand slam.
However, Belmont Abbey responded, scoring five runs in the bottom of the inning. The frame was highlighted by a two-run ground-rule double from Joe Whitaker and a two-run single from Brady Roberts. Watt lifted another home run in the ninth, but that was all Ethan Yarbrough allowed as Belmont Abbey took the contest 13-11.
Belmont Abbey advances to take on Francis Marion at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mount Olive faces Erskine an elimination game on Friday at 1:00 p.m.
