TEMPE, Ariz. – Conference Carolinas had three individuals recognized by the International Tennis Association (ITA) when the announced their regional awards.
Every year the ITA recognizes coaches and student-athletes for their excellence both on the court and in their communities throughout the season.
The Division II regional awards include: ITA Coach of the Year, ITA Assistant Coach of the Year, Arthur Ashe Leadership & Sportsmanship, ITA Rookie of the Year, ITA Most Improved Player, ITA Senior Player of the Year, ITA Player to Watch, and ITA Community Service Award.

Both Belmont Abbey College men’s women’s teams earned the community service award. Isaac Buerkle of Belmont Abbey was selected most improved men’s tennis southeast region most improved while Leilany Sanchez earned the women’s most improved award. Belmont Abbey assistant coach Molly Hencken was tabbed southeast region assistant coach of the year.
