GREENVILLE, S.C. – Conference Carolinas announced a new corporate sponsor in Executive Thought Partner as they become the official professional development organization for Conference Carolinas coaches, and athletic leaders. This is a disciplined thinking partnership for leaders to explore the depth and reasoning of their decision making.

In today’s world, university athletic directors, presidents, and nonprofit CEOs make their most consequential decisions in isolation, exhaustion, and without time for reflection, all while feeling the pressure of their staff depending on them, and the public watching them.

At Executive Thought Partner they envision:
  • Leadership decisions made from places of emotional stability and consistency
  • Executives growing from reflection by way of thoughtful challenging in quiet spaces where judgement has no place
  • Power exercised thoughtfully & proactively, not reactively
  • Where difficult situations with teams & staff are seen as opportunities to grow, and decisions are made with a focus on optimization and culture.
This work normalizes the idea that serious leadership requires an objective private thinking partner, just as serious organizations require legal counsel, financial oversight, or governance structures.

“Conference Carolinas feels this partnership with ETP will provide an additional resource to our leadership within the league to help in areas most needed,” said Craig McPhail, associate commissioner. “In the ever-changing landscape of intercollegiate athletics, having a trusted outside perspective can be invaluable to the decision-making process allowing for strategic implementation of goals.”

"Higher education and nonprofit leaders operate inside some of the most politically layered environments in existence. Every decision touches a board member, a donor, a faculty senate, a community stakeholder, or a staff member with institutional memory,” said Dr. Daniel Freeman. “We exist to be the space where leaders have protected time to build the muscle of reflection & awareness that pays dividends in high pressure situations.”
