Conference Carolinas well-represented on NCBWA and D2 CCA All-Southeast Region teams

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Conference Carolinas had 16 individuals earn All-Region honors from the National College Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) with individuals taking the player and pitcher of the year honors. Francis Marion University’s Charlie Bussey III was tabbed NCBWA and D2CCA Southeast Region Player of the Year and Drew Stegura of Belmont Abbey College earned NCBWA Southeast Region Pitcher of the Year. The league had 14 individuals earn all-region honors from the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D 2CCA).

Bussey III was tabbed Conference Carolinas Player of the Year while Stegura garnered Conference Carolinas Pitcher of the Year recognition.

NCBWA ALL-REGION SELCTIONS

Jack Enrico of Young Harris, Landon Lucas of UNC Pembroke, Joe Whitaker. Caleb Burr and Drew Stegura of Belmont Abbey, Ethan McAnally and Bussey III from Francis Marion and Josh Foulks and Thomas Skipper of North Greenville University garnered first team honors.

Kade Smallwood and Carlos Martans of Young Harris, CJ Dean, Lane McGaha and Bennett Roemer of North Greenville as well as Spencer Cipro and Ethan Yarbrough of Belmont Abbey earned second team honors.

D2 CCA ALL-REGION SELECTIONS

First team D2 CCA selections included Stegura, Enrico, Lucas, Bussey III, McAnally, Ahmaad Goldson of Chowan University and Riley Orr of Francis Marion.

Second team honorees include, Cipro, Skipper, Smallwood, Whitaker, Burr, as well as North Greenville’s Matty Brown and Francis Marion’s Will Dorrell.
