INDIANAPOLIS – The NCAA announced region rankings, for baseball and softball this week. Conference Carolinas has six programs ranked in the two sets of rankings.
The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process and will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Baseball and Softball Committees up to the NCAA Championship selections.
Baseball Rankings
In the final set of baseball rankings, North Greenville University is ranked first with Francis Marion University ranked fifth. Young Harris is ranked sixth and Belmont Abbey is ranked seventh.
North Greenville is 47-9 overall with a 46-9 mark in region contests while the Patriots own a 42-12 record. Young Harris is 38-16 and Belmont Abbey is 38-14.
The NCAA Division II Championship field will be announced live on NCAA.com on May 10.
Softball Rankings
In the final set of softball ranking Francis Marion is ranked second while the University of Mount Olive is ranked 10th.
The Patriots own a 44-11 overall record, going 41-11 in region contests while Mount Olive is 31-25 overall and 31-21.
