GREENVILLE, S.C. – Serenity Harvey of the University of Mount Olive has been selected as the Conference Carolinas Female Athlete of the Year for the 2025-26 academic year.
Harvey, a freshman from Whiteville, North Carolina, had a spectacular rookie campaign that culminated in a national championship at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships. She won the 200 meter dash, finishing in a Conference Carolinas record time of 23.11 seconds. In the prelims she posted a faster time, covering the distance in 23.06 seconds. She also earned All-America honors in the 4x100 meter relay as the Trojans finished second. Harvey also competed in the 400 meter dash at the outdoor championships, finishing 14th.
At the conference level, Harvey garnered freshman of the year honors at both the Conference Carolinas Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships. She also garnered Track Athlete of the Year following the outdoor championship. She earned outdoor conference titles in the 200 and 400 meters, won the 200 meters and finished runner-up in the 400 meters at the indoor championships. At the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships, Harvey finished 10th in the 200 meters.
“This award puts a finishing touch to an amazing freshman campaign,” said Mount Olive head track & field coach Earl Graves. “This year she made an immediate impact on our program helping us to four team championships as well as our first national champion. Serenity is a very hard worker, kind person, and determined to be successful. She is the personification of the conference motto: Champions in body, mind, and soul.”
Harvey was selected Conference Carolinas Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week twice and Conference Carolinas Outdoor Freshman of the Month twice.
The Athlete of the Year Award (one male and one female each year) is the most outstanding student-athlete for the year in the league. Per Conference Carolinas Directors of Athletics vote, nominations will be accepted from member institutions to only include conference-sponsored sports and all nomination information, statistics and accomplishments are solely based on athletically-related criteria.
