Conference Carolinas Partners with Make-A-Wish at Basketball Championships

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Conference Carolinas partnered with Make-A-Wish over the course of the 2020 Conference Carolinas Basketball Championships at Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium.

During every halftime of all six games at Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium, Conference Carolinas held special “Miracle Minutes” where all fans in attendance were given the chance to donate money to the program that grants wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses.

In addition, Conference Carolinas partnered with Make-A-Wish to have a table at the championships so that all in attendance could learn more about the program.

On Championship Sunday, Make-A-Wish children were even in attendance and had the truly unique opportunity to sit on the bench with the teams participating in the title games.

Conference Carolinas welcomed the Clark family, the Crow family, the Brown family, the Couns family, the Julian family and the Orr family.

At halftime of the men’s basketball championship game, Conference Carolinas Commissioner Chris Colvin presented those in attendance and Make-A-Wish South Carolina Vice President of Mission Advancement Amanda Osborne with a check for the funds made from the “Miracle Minutes” over the course of the 2020 Conference Carolinas Basketball Championships.

Conference Carolinas and NCAA Division II are proud partners with the Make-A-Wish Program. Division II has raised more than $6.2 million toward granting the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.

Almost 740 “wishes” have been granted through Division II contributions. These wishes can serve as a game changer in children’s fights against their illnesses, helping them feel better, and in some cases, even get better.
