Belmont Abbey-Southern Wesleyan to Face Off in Conference Carolinas Men’s Basketball Championship Final

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Fourth-seeded Southern Wesleyan will face off against second-seeded Belmont Abbey in the 2020 Conference Carolinas Men’s Basketball Championship final on Sunday, March 8 at Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium.

Belmont Abbey is playing in its third straight Conference Carolinas Tournament championship game, while Southern Wesleyan is playing in its first-ever Conference Carolinas Men’s Basketball Tournament title game.

The 2020 Conference Carolinas Men’s Basketball Championship final is slated for a 4 p.m. start on Sunday.

Southern Wesleyan led for 37:14 in picking up a 92-77 win over top-seeded King to advance to the title game. Solomon Smith and Ta’Jay Dunlap both had 22 points in leading the Warriors in the semifinal victory. (Box Score) and (Press Conference

Belmont Abbey led for 37:27 in securing the win over Emmanuel to move on to the championship game. First-team all-conference performers DeQuan Abrom (31 points) and Romeao Ferguson (20 points) helped the Crusaders go an impressive 29-of-32 at the charity stripe in the semifinal.
