Player of the Year:

Adam Hedges, Belmont Abbey

Adam Hedges was named Conference Carolinas Player of the Year after compiling a season record that sees him ranked number one in the region. He spent two weeks of the year leading NCAA Division II golf in scoring average and has been in the top ten during the entire season. His championship season scoring average is 71.18 which is currently fifth nationally. He earned his first career win at the Richard Rendleman Invitational with a personal best score of 68 in the final round. He added a second place finish at the Bearcat Golf Classic.

Freshman of the Year:

Brad Thorne, Erskine

Brad Thorne was named this year’s Freshman of the Year from Erskine College after scoring four top-twenty showings throughout the year. Thorne had a second place finish at the Anderson University Invitational, a 10th-place performance at The Barton College Intercollegiate, 12that The King College Invite, and a 17th place spot at Catawba’s Richard Rendleman Invitational.

Coach of the Year:

Joey Denton, Belmont Abbey

Belmont Abbey coach Joey Denton earned Coach of the Year honors in this his second year guiding the Crusader golf programs. Denton has coached a team that spent much the year ranked in the top 30 nationally with a high of 19th in October. Denton has mentored Player of the Year Adam Hedges to a top ten ranking in scoring average, reaching the top spot for two weeks in March.
