Conference Carolinas coaches and administrators are teachers and mentors who commit their lives to helping student-athletes become virtuous men and women on and off the field of play. Aristotle best described what they do when he wrote, “Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but we rather have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.”
Fidelity to mission and to one another helps our student-athletes to build those rare and long-lasting friendships which desire only what is good for the friend, for the friend’s sake alone. This selflessness and willingness to sacrifice for a noble purpose carries over into every aspect of their lives. It also enables them to compete at the highest levels often becoming NCAA All-Americans and National Champions.
Being a member of Conference Carolinas prepares students to lead lives of integrity, succeed professionally and become responsible citizens. The virtues Conference Carolinas’ student-athletes demonstrate during practice and high-level competition are the same ones they will use as graduates and leaders to help transform our culture and make the world a better place to live.
