Two Conference Carolinas Soccer Players Named to Academic All-America Teams

AUSTIN, TEXAS – Two Conference Carolinas soccer players were recognized as 2017 Academic All-America Team selections by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Wednesday (Dec. 6) afternoon.

Limestone College's Naiara Kapstein was named a first team All-America on the women's side. She is a senior triple major in business management, marketing and finance with a 4.0 GPA.

On the men's side, Lees-McRae College's Tom Deeley was named to the men's third team. He is a senior psychology major with a 3.88 GPA.

The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2017-18 Division II Academic All-America® teams program

Conference Carolinas is a NCAA Division II athletics conference made up of 11 teams from Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. These institutions consist of: Barton College, Belmont Abbey College, Converse College, Emmanuel College, Erskine College, King University, Lees-McRae College, Limestone College, University of Mount Olive, North Greenville University, and Southern Wesleyan University. Emmanuel College is are currently completing the NCAA Membership Process and will be fully competing in league championships in the near future.
