HIGH POINT, N.C. – Conference Carolinas Commissioner Dr. Alan Patterson announced the addition of one new staff member this week. Megan Zimlich will join the office as the Conference Officer for the 2018-19 academic year.
"We are very excited to have Megan join our staff for the 2018-19 academic year," said Dr. Patterson. "She brings a lot of talent and knowledge to our conference which will allow us to continue to grow and expand Conference Carolinas, while better serving our members.”
Zimlich comes to Conference Carolinas after spending the last two years as a graduate assistant at the University of Arkansas. At Arkansas, Zimlich worked in the AD office as the Development Assistant for Administration, where she was responsible for coordinating communication of senior staff updates, progress reports, quarterly forecasting, and student-athlete mid-career and exit interviews.
Prior to her GA position, Zimlich was a five-year member of the Razorback track & field program as a pole vaulter. In addition to her participation in athletics, she served in the athletics department as a marketing intern and Razorback Sports Property Assistant for IMG.
“I am looking forward to an amazing experience here at Conference Carolinas,” said Zimlich. “To have the opportunity to grow professionally and personally in a strong team environment is humbling, but also empowering. I cannot wait to get started in August.”
At Conference Carolinas, Zimlich will be charged with overseeing the conference’s awards program, assisting in the planning, preparation and oversight of Conference Carolinas’ 23 sport championships, and assisting with the day-to-day communication and media relations for the conference office.
Zimlich holds a Bachelor of Science in marketing and supply chain and a Master of Business Administration with a focus in sport management from the University of Arkansas. She begins her duties at the Conference Carolinas office on August 1.
