Barton’s Jackson Named Week 13 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Barton College guard Tatyana Jackson has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played from Feb. 15-21, the conference announced today.

A sophomore from Wake Forest, N.C., Jackson averaged 16.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists to lead the Bulldogs to a 2-0 week and extend their winning streak to four games.

Jackson would post 15 points and five rebounds in a 76-68 win over Southern Wesleyan, which she shot 5-for-8 from the field, including 4-for-6 from three-point range. She would follow that performance up with an 18-point outing on 6-for-9 shooting (6-for-8 3pt) in a 75-67 win over Belmont Abbey. Jackson would add four boards and four assists to her game totals.


Mount Olive’s Havens Named Week 12 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – University of Mount Olive guard Felicity Havens has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played from Feb. 8-14, the conference announced today.

Havens, a sophomore from Wilmington, N.C., led Mount Olive to a 3-0 week after averaging 18.7 points and 7.3 rebounds.

Havens would see limited minutes in an 83-57 win over Lees-McRae, but was efficient from the field, shooting 3-for-4 from the field, including 1-for-2 from three-point range, for seven points and four rebounds. In a 78-58 win over Southern Wesleyan, Havens would pour in 25 points and pull down seven rebounds. Against Erskine, she would register a double-double with 24 points and 11 rebounds to help the Trojans to a 71-55 win.


Limestone’s Lester Named Week 11 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Limestone College guard Maurissa Lester has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played from Feb. 1-7, the conference announced today.

Lester, a senior from Marietta, Ga., notches her second straight Conference Carolinas weekly award and third overall after averaging 20.5 points and nine rebounds for the No. 4 Saints during a 2-0 week.

In a 59-39 win over North Greenville, Lester just missed out on a double-double, pulling down eight rebounds and scoring 12 points. However, in a 90-59 win over Belmont Abbey Lester would not miss out on her first career double-double. The guard would match her career-high with 29 points and pull down 10 boards to go along with four assists in the rout.


Limestone’s Lester Named Week 10 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Limestone College guard Maurissa Lester has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played from Jan. 25-31, the conference announced today.

A senior from Marietta, Ga., Lester picks up her second Conference Carolinas weekly award after leading the No. 5 Limestone Saints to a 3-0 week. She averaged 20 points, 3.7 rebounds and four steals while shooting 63.4 percent from the field.

Lester started the week with 17 points and five steals in a 101-52 win against Southern Wesleyan, shooting 8-for-13 from the field. She would follow that performance up with 16 points on 7-for-9 shooting and five more steals in a 74-65 win over Barton. Her biggest showing came on national television in a 90-64 rout of Mount Olive. Lester would poured in 27 points on 11-for-19 shooting, including 3-for-5 from beyond the arc, and add two steals.


Limestone’s Kearse Named Week 9 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Limestone College guard Jasmine Kearse has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played from Jan. 18-24, the conference announced today.

The junior from St. Augustine, Fla. continues to dominate Conference Carolinas on a weekly basis, as she has nabbed her fourth Player of the Week after leading the No. 7 Saints to a 97-52 victory over Belmont Abbey College last week.

Kearse poured in a game-high 25 points, with 17 coming in the third quarter, on 9-for-17 shooting from the field and 7-for-15 shooting beyond the arc. She would stuff her stat sheet by adding seven rebounds, four assists and three steals to her game totals.


Belmont Abbey’s Bethel Named Week 8 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Belmont Abbey forward Gabrielle Bethel has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played from Jan. 11-17, the conference announced today.

A junior from Fayetteville, N.C., Bethel had a remarkable week for the Crusaders as she shot 90 percent from the field and averaged a double-double with 22.5 points and 11 rebounds per game. Bethel's performance propelled Belmont Abbey to a 2-0 record last week with wins over Southern Wesleyan and Barton.

Against Southern Wesleyan on Jan. 13 Bethel would miss her lone two shots of the week. the forward would shoot 9-for-11 from the field and score 23 points while pulling down 10 rebounds, which included eight offensive boards. In an encore against Barton on Jan. 16, Bethel would go a perfect 9-for-9 from the field and finish the game with 22 points and 12 rebounds.


Limestone’s Kearse Named Week 7 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Limestone College guard Jasmine Kearse has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played from Jan. 4-10, the conference announced today.

Kearse, a junior from St. Augustine, Fla., continued her impressive play this season by averaging 24.3 points, four rebounds, four assists and 2.7 steals in the No. 10 Saints three wins last week.

In a 83-68 rout of Lees-McRae on Jan. 5, Kearse tied a school record after pouring in a career-high 44 points. She would add three rebounds and five steals to her game totals. She would follow her performance up with 14 points, five boards and five assists in the Saints' 86-60 win over Mount Olive on Jan. 8. The following day against Barton, Kearse would drop 15 points and dish six assists to close out the week with a 95-33 win.


King’s Albertson Named Week 6 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – King University center Ashley Albertson has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played from Dec. 14-20, the conference announced today.

Albertson, a junior from Kenmore, Wash., averaged 16.5 points and 4.5 rebounds while shooting 54.5 percent from the field for the Tornado during a 1-1 week.

Albertson started the week playing 20 minutes in King's 84-61 rout of Conference Carolinas foe Belmont Abbey. She would pour in 13 points and grab four boards to go along with two steals in the contest. In an encore performance against Virginia-Wise, Albertson would notch a career-high 20 points in only 18 minutes of action and tally five rebounds and three steals.


King’s Mitchell Named Week 5 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – King University guard Whitney Mitchell has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played from Dec. 7-13, the conference announced today.

A junior from Oak Ridge, Tenn., Mitchell led the Tornado to a 1-1 week, with the win coming against Conference Carolinas foe Emmanuel (Ga.). For the week, she averaged 16 points and shot 50 percent from the field to go along with 3.5 steals per game.

Mitchell would be the catalyst in King's 57-51 win over Emmanuel (Ga.) on Dec. 10. She poured in team-high 16 points on 4-of-7 shooting from the field, including 3-of-5 from beyond the arc. Mitchell would add four steals and two rebounds to her total. In a tough 78-70 loss to Lincoln Memorial on Dec. 12, Mitchell would register 16 points, three steals and two rebounds to lead the Tornado.


Limestone’s Kearse Named Week 4 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Limestone College guard Jasmine Kearse has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played from Nov. 30 - Dec. 6, the conference announced today.

Kearse, a junior from St. Augustine, Fla., had a historic week for the nationally ranked No. 9 Limestone Saints, as she averaged 23.5 points, five assists and three steals per game.

In an 80-71 win over Erskine on Tuesday, Dec. 1, Kearse would become the 14th player in Limestone history to pass the 1,000-point mark when she scored 20 points, dished six assists and nabbed four steals in the victory. She would follow that performance with 27 points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals in a 62-47 win over Emmanuel (Ga.) on Dec. 5. The win would mark the first time a Limestone women's basketball team has ever started a season 7-0.


Limestone’s Lester Named Week 3 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Limestone College guard Maurissa Lester has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played from Nov. 23-29, the conference announced today.

A senior from Marietta, Ga., Lester averaged 21 points, four rebounds and two assists to lead the No. 9 Saints to a 2-0 record last week.

In an 85-56 rout of Pfeiffer on Nov. 24, Lester went 6-for-9 from the field for 13 points and dished out four assists to go along with three boards. She would follow that performance up with a career-high 29 points and five rebounds in a 77-66 win over Lenoir-Rhyne on Nov. 28. Lester would shoot 9-for-17 from the field and a perfect 10-for-10 from the charity stripe.


Barton’s Wynn Named Week 2 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Barton College forward Kianna Wynn has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played from Nov. 16-22, the conference announced today.

Wynn, a freshman from Knightdale, N.C., averaged 15.5 points, 10 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game in route to leading the Bulldogs to a 2-0 week.

On Nov. 17 against St. Augustine, Wynn posted eight points, nine rebounds and two steals in limited action of a 88-68 blowout. Two days later in extended minutes against Coker she would pour in 23 points and snatch down 11 rebounds in the Bulldogs 73-64 overtime win.


Limestone’s Kearse Named Week 1 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Limestone College guard Jasmine Kearse has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played the first week of the season, the conference announced today.

A junior from St. Augustine, Fla., Kearse paced the No. 12 Saints to a pair of wins over Coker and Newberry in the Conference Carolinas/South Atlantic Conference Challenge. In the two games Kearse averaged 24.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.5 steals per game.

In a 94-55 blowout of Coker on Nov. 13, Kearse filled the stat sheet with 18 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals in only 28 minutes of action. A day later against Newberry, Kearse would go off for 31 points, five rebounds and four steals in 37 minutes to lead the Saints to a 56-41 win.
