Belmont Abbey's Shelton Named Week 9 Women's Soccer Player of the Week

          

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Belmont Abbey midfielder Laura Shelton has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Player of the Week for matches played Oct. 26 - Nov. 1, the conference announced today.

A senior from Advance, N.C., Shelton was a magician for the Crusaders, registering seven points on three assists and two goals and leading the team to wins over North Greenville and Limestone. In a 4-0 win over North Greenville on Oct. 27, Shelton would dish out three assists for three points and set the stage for an unbeaten showdown between Limestone in the season finale. Against Limestone, Shelton would be the hero, scoring both of the team’s goals in the 2-1 victory.


King's Garrett Named Week 8 Women's Soccer Player of the Week

         

HIGH POINT, N.C. – King midfielder Kara Garrett has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Player of the Week for matches played Oct. 19 - Oct. 25, the conference announced today.

Garrett, a redshirt freshman from Abingdon, Va., scored three goals for six points to lead the Tornado to a 1-1 week. After suffering a non-conference loss to Carson-Newman on Oct. 21, the Tornado would notch a 5-4 double-overtime win three days later against Pfeiffer. Garrett would be the driving force in the win as she netted a hat-trick, including the game-winner in the 105th minute.


Limestone's O'Connor Named Week 7 Women's Soccer Player of the Week

        

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Limestone forward Megan O'Connor has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Player of the Week for matches played Oct. 12 - Oct. 18, the conference announced today.

A freshman from Mt. Pleasant, S.C., O’Connor scored two goals and dished out an assist to tally five points on the week. Her strong play led the Saints to a 2-0 week with wins over King and Barton. O’Connor got her week started scoring both of Limestone’s goals in a 2-1 win at King on Oct. 14. Three days later, she would follow her two-goal performance up with an assist in the Saints’ 2-0 win at Barton.


Belmont Abbey's Philp Named Week 6 Women's Soccer Player of the Week

       

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Belmont Abbey forward Meghan Philp has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Player of the Week for matches played Oct. 5 - Oct. 11, the conference announced today.

A senior from Houma, La., Philp led the Crusaders to a 3-0 week after tallying three goals and one assist for seven points. Against Converse on Oct. 5, she found the back of the net twice and dished out her lone helper of the week for a five-point performance in a 5-1 win. After being held scoreless two days later in the team’s 1-0 win over Lees-McRae, Philp would net her third goal of the week in a 4-1 rout of Pfeiffer on Oct. 10.


Pfeiffer's Buster Named Week 5 Women's Soccer Player of the Week

      

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Pfeiffer forward Brae Buster has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Player of the Week for matches played Sept. 28 - Oct. 4, the conference announced today.

Buster, a junior from Raleigh, N.C., tallied four points on two goals and led the Falcons to a 2-0 record last week. In a non-conference matchup with Catawba on September 30, Buster would net the first goal in Pfeiffer’s 2-1 win.  Three days later, she would find the back of the net again, this time in a 4-2 Falcons’ win over conference foe North Greenville.


Limestone's Martinez Named Week 4 Women's Soccer Player of the Week

     

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Limestone goalkeeper Mariette Martinez has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Player of the Week for matches played Sept. 21-27, the conference announced today.

Martinez, a senior from East Stroudsburg, Pa., led the Saints to a 2-0 week after making five saves and posting two shutouts in 180 minutes of action. Her week started with a three-save performance in a 2-0 win over Lees-McRae on Sept. 23. Two days later, Martinez followed that performance up with two saves in another 2-0 win over North Greenville. Martinez’s two shutouts on the week propelled the Saints to the first 8-0 start in team history.


Limestone's Rawcliffe Named Week 3 Women's Soccer Player of the Week

    

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Limestone midfielder Holly Rawcliffe have been named the Conference Carolinas Women’s Soccer Player of the Week for matches played Sept. 14-20, the conference announced today.

Rawcliffe, a freshman, tallied three goals and one assist for seven points on the week and led Limestone to its first 6-0 start in school history with two wins over Conference Carolinas foes. The Preston, England native got her week started with two goals on only three shots in the Saints’ 6-0 rout of Emmanuel (Ga.) on Sept. 15. Four days later, Rawcliffe would notch a goal and an assist in Limestone’s 5-1 blowout of Pfeiffer to move her team to 3-0 in conference play. She took six shots on the week and placed four on target.

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Limestone midfielder Holly Rawcliffe has been named the Conference Carolinas Women’s Soccer Player of the Week for matches played the between Sept. 7-13, the conference announced today.

A freshman from Preston, England, Rawcliffe led the Saints to a dominant 2-0 record last week after tallying seven points on three goals and an assist. She got her week started with a first half hat-trick in an 8-1 rout of Chowan on Sept. 8. Rawcliffe followed her stellar offensive performance up with an assist in Limestone's 2-0 win over conference foe Converse on Sept. 12.


Mount Olive’s Poppe Named Week 1 Women's Soccer Player of the Week

  

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Mount Olive forward Nichole Poppe have been named the Conference Carolinas Women’s Soccer Player of the Week for matches played the first week of the season, the conference announced today.

Poppe, a junior from Youngsville, N.C., led the Trojans to a 1-1 weekend after scoring two goals. She took seven shots, placing three on frame, in Mount Olive’s 1-0 loss to Georgia College on September 4. Poppe’s two goals would come two days later against Goldey-Beacom, as the Trojans won the match in dominating fashion, 4-1.
