King's Willoughby Named Week 10 Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

          

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Lauren Willoughby of King University has been named Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played during the week of Nov. 1 - Nov. 8, the conference announced today.

The Cary, N.C. native dominated the floor with two stellar matches, giving King the edge to the North Division crown. She averaged 4.63 kills, 3.38 digs per set, and hit .278, for the week.
The senior outside hitter posted career highs with 26 kills and 16 digs, while hitting .270 on 63 attempts in the 3-2 come-from-behind victory against Barton on Friday, Nov. 6. In the fifth set, Willoughby accounted for five straight kills while trailing Barton, 14-10. Her play would lead the Tornado to a 16-14 set win. A day later against Mount Olive, she tallied her 11th double-double of the season, going for 11 kills and 11 digs.

Erskine's Dodge Named Week 9 Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

         

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Kristen Dodge of Erskine has been named Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played during the week of Oct. 26 – Nov. 1, the conference announced today.

The Duncan, S.C. native had a tremendous week for the Flying Fleet, leading the team to a 2-0 week after registering 76 assists, 26 digs and 13 kills.

The junior setter got her week off to a solid start as she finished a 3-0 sweep of Mount Olive with a double-double performance of 28 assists and 13 digs with five kills. Her encore performance would come a day later on Oct. 31 against then North Division-leading Barton College. In the 3-2 win over the Bulldogs, Dodge would come two kills short of a triple-double as she finished the match with eight kills to go along with 48 assists and 13 digs.


Belmont Abbey's Schellenberg Named Week 8 Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

        

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Hannah Schellenberg of Belmont Abbey has been named Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played during the week of Oct. 19 – Oct. 25, the conference announced today.

The Jacksonville, Fla. native had a week of dominant performances, which led the Crusaders to a 2-1 record. The senior outside hitter tallied 77 kills, 41 digs, five aces and a .366 hitting average for the week.

On Oct. 21 at Lees-McRae, Schellenberg racked up 22 kills and eight digs and hit .538 to lead the Crusaders to a 3-0 win. Two days later in a 3-1 loss against King, she notched a double-double with 20 kills and 13 digs. On Oct. 24, competing against the Bobcats once again, Schellenberg finished with a career-high 35 kills and added 20 digs, two aces and hitting .384 to lead her team to a 3-2 victory.


King's Willoughby Named Week 7 Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

       

HIGH POINT, N.C. – King University's Lauren Willoughby has been named Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played during the week of Oct. 12 – Oct. 18, the conference announced today.

Willoughby, a Cary, N.C. native, accounted for a total of 31 kills, 19 digs, and 3.88 kills per set en route to a 2-0 week for the Tornado.

The senior outside hitter’s double-double performance against Charleston (W.V.) on Oct. 13 led King to a five-set comeback win, as she recorded 17 kills and 12 digs with four aces. Four days later, she registered 14 kills, seven digs and four aces in a 3-0 Tornado victory over Lees-McRae.


Barton's Pingyin Named Week 6 Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

      

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Stephanie Pingyin of Barton has been named Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played during the week of Oct. 5 – Oct. 11, the conference announced today.

The Bulldogs fed off of the sophomore's stellar performances, which propelled the team to two straight-set victories over King University and Lees McRae College; improving their winning streak to five matches. The Christchurch, New Zealand native tallied 35 kills, 14 digs and a .358 hitting percentage for the week.

Against King on Oct. 9, Pingyin would just miss a double-double, as she knocked home 18 kills and dug eight balls. A day later she would post 17 kills and six digs in Barton's win over Lees-McRae.


Barton's Pingyin Named Week 5 Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

     

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Stephanie Pingyin, an outside hitter from Barton College, was named Conference Carolinas Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week  for matches played during the week of Sept. 28 – Oct. 4, the conference announced today.

The sophomore from Christchurch, New Zealand, had a great week against Coker College, Belmont Abbey College, and Pfeiffer University. She finished the week with 56 kills, 20 digs, eight blocks, and a hitting percentage of .312.

Against the Cobras, Pingyin finished with a double-double performance of 18 kills and 10 digs and added four blocks. In a 3-1 win over Belmont Abbey, she tallied 20 kills and dug six balls, while finishing with 18 kills and four digs in a 3-0 win against the Falcons of Pfeiffer.




North Greenville's Pierce Named Week 4 Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

    

HIGH POINT, N.C. – North Greenville outside hitter Kenzie Pierce has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played Sept. 21-27, the conference announced today.

A sophomore from Winston-Salem, N.C., Pierce led the Crusaders to a 4-0 record last week. She knocked home 44 kills, 11 digs and eight aces. In a straight-set victory over Benedict on Sept. 22, Pierce had 10 kills, two digs and an ace against the Tigers. She would tally 13 kills and two aces in a 3-1 win over St. Andrews two days later. In two 3-0 victories over Mount Olive and Barton, Pierce would notch six kills and four aces against the Trojans, while delivering 15 kills, five digs and an ace against the Bulldogs.


Belmont Abbey's Schellenberg Named Week 3 Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

   

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Belmont Abbey outside hitter Hannah Schellenberg has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played Sept. 14-20, the conference announced today.

Schellenberg, a senior from Jacksonville, Fla., led the Crusaders to a 3-1 record on the week by tallying 88 kills, digging 48 balls and notching three double-doubles. On Sept. 15, She registered 27 kills and 17 digs in a 3-2 conference win over King. Three days later, she would knock home 20 kills and 11 digs in a 3-1 win over conference foe Emmanuel (Ga.). On Sept. 19, she would turn in two impressive performances against Montevallo and GRU Augusta, as she tallied 24 kills and nine digs in a 3-2 win over Montevallo and 17 kills and 11 digs in a 3-0 loss to GRU Augusta.


Barton's Pingyin Named Week 2 Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

   

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Barton outside hitter Stephanie Pingyin has been named the Conference Carolinas Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played Sept. 7-13, the conference announced today.

A sophomore transfer from Christchurch, New Zealand, Pingyin led the Crusaders to a 3-2 record during the week. During the five-game span she buried 79 kills, dug 43 balls and compiled two double-double performances. She began the week with a double-double of 17 kills and 15 digs in a 3-0 win over Chowan University. Two days later, she register 28 kills and nine digs in a 3-1 win over Emmanuel (Ga.) and 16 kills and 11 digs in a 3-0 loss to Lee University. She would close out her week with six kills and four digs in a 3-0 win over Union (Tenn.) University and 12 kills and four digs in a 3-0 loss to Campbellsville University.


Belmont Abbey's Schellenberg Named Week 1 Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

  

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Belmont Abbey outside hitter Hannah Schellenberg has been named the Conference Carolinas Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played the first week of the season, the conference announced today.

Schellenberg, a senior from Jacksonville, Fla., led the Crusaders to a 3-1 record over the weekend by knocking home 83 kills, digging 74 balls and notching four double-doubles. On September 4, She tallied 15 kills and 17 digs in a loss to Francis Marion and added 14 kills and 15 digs in a 3-2 win over UNC Pembroke. The following day she turned in two remarkable performances, as she tallied 22 kills and 24 digs in a 3-1 win over Mars Hill and then outdid herself with a school record 32 kills and 18 digs in a 3-2 win over Newberry.
