Mount Olive's Dahlke Named Week 6 Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week

               

HIGH POINT, N.C. – University of Mount Olive's Jonathan Dahlke has been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week for meets held Apr. 17-23.

Dahlke, a junior from Cologne, Germany, had an impressive showing for the Trojans at the Duke Invite hosted by Duke University over the weekend. He set an NCAA Division II Provisional qualifying time in the 5000 meter, with his time of 14:01.10 being good enough for second-place. In the heavy Division I field, Dahlke finished as the top NCAA runner, with the winner running unattached.


Belmont Abbey’s Smallwood Named Week 6 Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week

            

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Belmont Abbey College's Julian Smallwood has been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for meets held Apr. 17-23.

A freshman from Buffalo, N.Y., posted a runner-up finish for the Crusaders at the USC Open hosted by the University of South Carolina. He would finish second in the event with a shot put of 16.24 meters.


North Greenville's Richardson Named Week 5 Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week

              

HIGH POINT, N.C. – North Greenville University's Tevin Richardsonhas been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week for meets held Apr. 10-16.

A freshman from Calhoun Falls, S.C. Richardson had quite the showing at the Beynon Sports Catamount Classic hosted by Western Carolina University. Richardson would notch a runner-up finish in the 200 meter with a time of 21.46 seconds, which was top collegiate time, as he only finished behind former Olympian Manteo Mitchell.


King’s Okot Named Week 5 Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week

           

HIGH POINT, N.C. – King University's Vincent Okot has been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for meets held Apr. 10-16.

Okot, a senior from Murfreesboro, Tenn., posted a pair of top-three finishes for the Tornado at the Beynon Sports Catamount Classic hosted by Western Carolina University. He would win the triple jump with a jump of 15.30 meters, breaking a 10-year-old King school record. Okot would notch a runner-up finish in the long jump with a distance of 6.86 meters.


Mount Olive's Rendon-Alcala Named Week 4 Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week

             

HIGH POINT, N.C. – University of Mount Olive's Guillermo Rendon-Alcala has been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week for meets held Apr. 3-9.

Rendon-Alcala, a sophomore from Mijas Costa, Spain, had a strong outing for the Trojans at the Liberty Collegiate Invitational hosted by Liberty University. He would break the UMO record in both the 100 and 200 meter dash, while also earning NCAA Division II Provisional marks in each event. Rendon-Alcala would win the 200 with a time of 21.23, while finishing second in the 100 with a time of 10.49.


Mount Olive’s Greyno Named Week 4 Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week

          

HIGH POINT, N.C. – University of Mount Olive's Nick Greyno has been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for meets held Apr. 3-9.

A senior from Wilmington, N.C., Greyno finished with a pair of record-breaking performances for Mount Olive at the Liberty Collegiate Invitational hosted by Liberty University. He would break the UMO record in the hammer throw and finish in first-place with a distance of 50.39 meters, while notching second in the discus with a record throw of 46.85 meters.


Mount Olive's Dahlke Named Week 3 Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week

            

HIGH POINT, N.C. – University of Mount Olive's Jonathan Dahlke has been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Track Athlete of the Week for meets held Mar. 27 - Apr. 2.

A junior from Cologne, Germany, Dahlke earned an automatic qualification to the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships this weekend at the Colonial Relays hosted by College of William & Mary. He would post a time of 8:50.09 in the 3000 meter steeplechase, which earned him first in the event and booked his ticket to nationals.


Belmont Abbey’s Smallwood Named Week 3 Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week

         

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Belmont Abbey's Julian Smallwood has been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Field Athlete of the Week for meets held Mar. 27 - Apr. 2.

Smallwood, a freshman from Buffalo, N.Y., finished with a top-five performance for the Crusaders at the HPU VertKlasse Meeting hosted by High Point University. Smallwood registered a shot put of 15.25 meters, which earned him fifth-place in the event.


Mount Olive's Rendon-Alcala Named Week 2 Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week

           

HIGH POINT, N.C. – University of Mount Olive's Guillermo Rendon-Alcala has been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Track Athlete of the Week for meets held Mar. 20-26.

Rendon-Alcala, a sophomore from Mijas Costa, Spain, collected a pair of top-three finishes for the Trojans at the Dr. Jack Toms Alumni Invitational hosted by Lynchburg College. In the 100 meter dash, Rendon-Alcala would take first with a time of 10.51, while coming in second-place in the 200 meter dash with a time of 21.43. While setting NCAA Provisional marks in each event, Rendon-Alcala also broke the UMO school record in the process.


King’s Okot Named Week 2 Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week

        

HIGH POINT, N.C. – King University's Vincent Okot has been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Field Athlete of the Week for meets held Mar. 20-26.

A senior from Murfreesboro, Tenn., Okot earned a first-place finish for the Tornado at the Winthrop Adidas Invitational hosted by Winthrop University. Okot would take home the crown in the triple jump with a jump of 14.82 meters, which beat the runner-up by .43 meters and beat the closest Division II competitor by 1.41 meters.


North Greenville's Sherman Named Week 1 Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week

          

HIGH POINT, N.C. – North Greenville's JJ Sherman has been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Track Athlete of the Week for meets held Mar. 13-19.

A sophomore from Pawleys Island, S.C., Sherman notched a runner-up finish with a time of 10.51 seconds in the 100 meter dash at the 49er Classic hosted by University of North Carolina at Charlotte.


Barton’s Russell Jr. Named Week 1 Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week

       

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Barton College's Larry Russell Jr. has been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Field Athlete of the Week for meets held Mar. 13-19.

Russell Jr., a sophomore from Sicklerville, N.J., posted a pair of top-five finishes at the 49er Classic hosted by University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He would break his own school record in the long jump, registering a jump of 7.35 meters, which placed him second in the event. He would tie for fourth-place in the high jump with a jump of 2 meters, which is .01 off his own school record.

Mount Olive's Dahlke Named Week 6 Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week

         

HIGH POINT, N.C. – University of Mount Olive's Jonathan Dahlke has been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Track Athlete of the Week for meets held Feb. 6-12.

A junior from Cologne, Germany, Dahlke had a great performance for the Trojans at the Finn Pincus Invitational hosted by Roanoke College. He would post an NCAA Provisional qualifying mark in the 5000 meter run with a time of 14:37.60, which earned him a first-place finish and new Mount Olive record.


Pfeiffer’s Chavers Named Week 6 Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week

      

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Pfeiffer University's Matt Chavers has been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Field Athlete of the Week for meets held Feb. 6-12.

Chavers, a junior from Culpepper, Va., picked up a first-place finish in the weight throw for the Falcons at the Finn Pincus Invitational hosted by Roanoke College. He would set a new Pfeiffer record with his throw of 16.57 meters.


Mount Olive's Craig Named Week 5 Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week

        

HIGH POINT, N.C. – University of Mount Olive's Adam Craig has been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Track Athlete of the Week for meets held Jan. 30 - Feb. 5.

Craig, a junior from Lauder, United Kingdom, turned in a great performance for the Trojans at the JDL Fast Track Camel City Invitational. He would post an NCAA Provisional qualifying mark in the 3000 meter run with a time of 8:18.51. Craig's time was four seconds off the UMO record and good enough for a second-place finish.


King’s Okot Named Week 5 Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week

     

HIGH POINT, N.C. – King University's Vincent Okot has been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Field Athlete of the Week for meets held Jan. 30 - Feb. 5.

A senior from Murfreesboro, Tenn., Okot posted a top-three finish in the triple jump, while finishing top-20 in the long jump at the Buccaneer Invitational hosted by East Tennessee State University. He tallied a second-place finish and managed an NCAA Provisional mark in the triple jump with a jump of 15.22 meters, which was only .25 meters from an automatic qualifying mark. Okot closed out the day with a long jump of 6.34 meters, earning a 19th-place finish in the event.

HIGH POINT, N.C. – University of Mount Olive's Jonathan Dahlke has been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Track Athlete of the Week for meets held Jan. 23-29.

A junior from Cologne, Germany, Dahlke had a solid day at the UNCG Dual Meet Madness event hosted by UNC Greensboro. He would post a sixth-place finish in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:57.32, while leading the Trojans to a win in the DMR with a time of 10:16.81.


Mount Olive’s Greyno Named Week 4 Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week

    

HIGH POINT, N.C. – University of Mount Olive's Nick Greyno has been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Field Athlete of the Week for meets held Jan. 23-29.

Greyno, a senior from Wilmington, N.C., posted a pair of top-three finishes at the UNCG Dual Meet Madness event hosted by UNC Greensboro. He would win the shot put with a throw of 14.89 meters and take third in the weight throw with a mark of 15.28 meters.


Limestone's Scott Named Week 3 Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week

      

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Limestone College's Marshawn Scott has been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Track Athlete of the Week for meets held Jan. 16-22.

Scott, a senior from North Myrtle Beach, S.C., booked himself a trip to the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships with his performance at the Wake Forest Invitational over the weekend. Scott won the 60 meter hurdles with an NCAA automatic qualifying time of 7.85 seconds, which was .01 seconds off of setting a new school record in the event.


Barton’s Russell Named Week 3 Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week

   

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Barton College's Larry Russell has been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Field Athlete of the Week for meets held Jan. 16-22.

A sophomore from Sicklerville, N.J., Russell posted a pair of top-three finishes for the Bulldogs at the Wake Forest Invitational over the weekend. Russell placed first in the high jump with a jump of 2.10 meters, which easily broke his own indoor record. He would then break his own long jump record by placing third in the event with a leap of 7.33 meters.


King’s Ballowe Named Week 2 Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week

     

HIGH POINT, N.C. – King University's James Russell Ballowe has been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Track Athlete of the Week for meets held Jan. 9-15.

A junior from Roseland, Va., Ballowe opened the season with a pair of personal records to lead King at the ETSU Inviational hosted by East Tennessee State. He posted a pair of top-15 finishes, with his best performance being a fifth-place finish in the 5000 meter run with a time of 15:36.37. Ballowe would finish 15th with a time of 9:04.77 in the 3000 meter run.


Belmont Abbey’s Smallwood Named Week 2 Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week

  

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Belmont Abbey College's Julian Smallwood has been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Field Athlete of the Week for meets held Jan. 9-15.

Smallwood, a freshman from Buffalo, N.Y., represented Belmont Abbey well at the Art & Maillet Open hosted by UNC Chapel Hill, finishing second in the shot put. Smallwood would break his own school record by registering a throw of 14.62 meters.


Barton’s Street Named Week 1 Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week

    

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Barton College's Semaj Street has been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Track Athlete of the Week for meets held Nov. 28 - Dec. 4.

Street, a senior from Fayetteville, N.C., posted a pair of NCAA provisional marks in two separate events at the JDL Collegiate Kick-Off Classic. He would finish third in the preliminary round of the 60 meter dash with a time of 6.90 seconds, which was an NCAA provisional mark, while notching fifth overall in the finals with a time of 6.94 seconds. In the 200 meter dash, Street would finish runner-up and post an NCAA provisional time of 22.11 seconds.


Barton’s Corbett Named Week 1 Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week

 

HIGH POINT, N.C.Barton College’s Russell Corbett has been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Field Athlete of the Week for meets held Nov. 28 - Dec. 4.

A freshman from Leland, N.C., Corbett broke Barton's oldest indoor school record when he made his college debut at the JDL Collegiate Kick-Off Classic. He would register a shot put of 14.09 meters, which broke Barton's former record of 13.58 meters set back in 2014. Corbett would finish 12th overall in the event.
