North Greenville's Jones Named Week 12 Baseball Player of the Week

    

HIGH POINT, N.C. – North Greenville University's John Jones was tabbed the Conference Carolinas Baseball Player of the Week for games played Apr. 16-22.

A senior from Oviedo, Fla., Jones batted .400 with six hits and nine RBI to lead NGU to a 4-0 overall record, including a three-game Conference Carolinas sweep of Barton, last week. His play led the Crusaders to a regular season Conference Carolinas title and the No. 1 seed in this week's baseball tournament.


North Greenville's Brown Named Week 11 Baseball Player of the Week

    

HIGH POINT, N.C. – North Greenville University's John Jones was tabbed the Conference Carolinas Baseball Player of the Week for games played Apr. 16-22.

Brown, a senior from Columbia, S.C., batted .545 with six hits, including two doubles and two homers, and three RBI to lead NGU to a three-game Conference Carolinas sweep of Limestone last week. He also scored five runs and stole one base.


Limestone's Allen Named Week 10 Baseball Player of the Week

    

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Limestone College's Chase Allen was tabbed the Conference Carolinas Baseball Player of the Week for games played Apr. 2-8.

A junior from Sharpsburg, Ga., Allen led Limestone to a 3-1 record last week while also breaking the program's all-time home run record and becoming just the third player to hit 20 bombs in a season. He compiled a .438 batting average with seven hits, including four homers and a double, 10 RBI and five runs scored.


King's Valdes Named Week 9 Baseball Player of the Week

    

HIGH POINT, N.C. – King University's Tony Valdes was tabbed the Conference Carolinas Baseball Player of the Week for games played Mar. 26 - Apr. 1.

Valdes, a junior from Miami, Fla., led King to a 5-1 record last week, including a three-game sweep of Conference foe Limestone. He tallied two singles, two doubles, two triples and two home runs on the week for a .400 batting average to go with eight runs scored and six RBI.


Limestone's Orth Named Week 8 Baseball Player of the Week

    

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Limestone College's Matt Orth was tabbed the Conference Carolinas Baseball Player of the Week for games played Mar. 19-25.

A senior from Asheboro, N.C., Orth was the catalyst behind Limestone's 3-0 record last week, which featured a sweep of Conference Carolinas foe Barton. He batted .500 with six hits, including two doubles and two homer runs, and drove in six RBI. The highlight from Orth's week would come in game two of the series, as he hit a two-run homer in the top of the seventh inning. The homer would serve as the game-winning hit in the 6-5 win over the Bulldogs.

Orth would also pick up a win on the mound for the Saints in a 9-3 game three win. He gave up eight hits with all three of his runs being earned with six strikeouts to one walk in five innings of work.


Belmont Abbey's Genthe Named Week 7 Baseball Player of the Week

    

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Belmont Abbey College's Josh Genthe was tabbed the Conference Carolinas Baseball Player of the Week for games played Mar. 12-18.

Genthe, a senior Broadway, N.C., paced the No. 13 Crusaders to a 4-0 record last week. The shortstop would collect nine hits for a .563 average with three doubles and two homers and 11 RBI. Genthe's week was highlighted by a 4-for-4 outing with three doubles and five RBI in a 15-9 non-conference win over Carson-Newman on Mar. 14.


North Greenville's Chandler Named Week 6 Baseball Player of the Week

    

HIGH POINT, N.C. – North Greenville University's Jeffrey Chandler was tabbed the Conference Carolinas Baseball Player of the Week for games played Mar. 5-11.

A junior from Scottsdale, Ariz., Chandler led NGU to a 4-1 record last week, which included a 7-3 win over No. 3 Florida Southern. The outfielder notched a .550 average with 11 hits, which included three doubles and three homers, and 18 RBI. His best game was a 4-for-5 outing with a double, two homers and nine RBI in a 15-7 victory over Anderson (S.C.) on Mar. 6.


North Greenville's Chandler Named Week 5 Baseball Player of the Week

    

HIGH POINT, N.C. – North Greenville University's Jeffrey Chandler was tabbed the Conference Carolinas Baseball Player of the Week for games played Feb. 26 - Mar. 4.

Chandler, a junior from Scottsdale, Ariz., led NGU to a 3-1 record last week, which included taking two of three games from No. 3 Belmont Abbey. The outfielder posted a .375 average with six hits, which included two doubles and two homers, and eight RBI. His best game was a 3-for-4 showing at the plate with a double, homer and four RBI in a 9-5 win in game one of a doubleheader over Belmont Abbey on Mar. 3.


Belmont Abbey's Cureton Named Week 4 Baseball Player of the Week

    

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Belmont Abbey College's Luke Cureton was tabbed the Conference Carolinas Baseball Player of the Week for games played Feb. 19-25.

A senior from Indianapolis, Ind., Cureton led the Crusaders to a perfect 5-0 record, including a sweep of Conference Carolinas foe Southern Wesleyan. He posted 12 hits, including five doubles and one homer, with a .571 average. He also scored nine runs, drove in seven RBI and stole four bases.


Belmont Abbey's Rosenbaum Named Week 3 Baseball Player of the Week

    

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Belmont Abbey College's Colin Rosenbaum was tabbed the Conference Carolinas Baseball Player of the Week for games played Feb. 12-18.

Rosenbaum, a senior from Archdale, N.C., led the Crusaders to a perfect 5-0 record last week after posting a .579 batting average with 11 hits, 10 runs scored and eight RBI. Of his 11 hits, seven were of the extra-base variety with six doubles and one triple.


North Greenville's Grant Named Week 2 Baseball Player of the Week

    

HIGH POINT, N.C. – North Greenville University's Connor Grant was tabbed the Conference Carolinas Baseball Player of the Week for games played Feb. 5-11.

A junior from Columbia, S.C., Grant produced seven hits, including three homers, and seven RBI with a .538 average to lead NGU to a 3-1 week.


Mount Olive's Stone Named Week 1 Baseball Player of the Week

    

HIGH POINT, N.C. – University of Mount Olive's JT Stone was tabbed the Conference Carolinas Baseball Player of the Week for games played Feb. 1-4.

Stone, a junior from Fayetteville, N.C., tallied six hits and a .429 average at the plate to lead the No. 7 Trojans to a 2-1 record against Lander University. He collected four extra-base hits (2 HR, 1 3B and 1 2B) and drove in 11 RBI. Stone's best performance was in UMO's narrow 11-10 loss, as he went 3-for-5 with two homers and six RBI.
