King’s Salomon Named Week 15 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.King University forward Mike Salomon has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Feb. 12-18, the Conference announced today. This marks King's second straight POTW and fourth of the season overall.

Salomon, a sophomore from Statesboro, Ga., averaged 17.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists to pace the Tornado to a 2-0 record and keep it in a three-way tie for first in the Conference Carolinas standings.

Salomon posted a career-high 21 points on 7-for-11 shooting (7-9 3pt) with four boards and two assists in an 80-67 win over Limestone to start the week. He would then help spoil Belmont Abbey's Senior Day, as he poured in 14 points, seven rebounds and three dimes to lead King to a 69-61 win over the Crusaders.


King’s Floyd Named Week 14 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.King University guard Jordan Floyd has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Feb. 5-11, the Conference announced today. This is Floyd's second POTW of the season and King's third.

A junior from Stone Mountain, Ga., Floyd averaged 26 points on 58.6 shooting from the field, including 53.3 percent from long range. He also chipped in five assists, two rebounds and 1.5 steals per game to lead the Tornado to a 2-0 week.

In a 91-68 blowout of North Greenville, Floyd scored 25 points on 9-of-14 shooting (5-7 3pt) to along with six rebounds and four rebounds in just 25 minutes of action. Floyd would followed up his outing with another 20-point performance, pouring in 27 points with four assists in a 104-80 win over Southern Wesleyan.


North Greenville’s Howell Named Week 13 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.North Greenville University forward Roderick Howell has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Jan. 29 - Feb. 4, the Conference announced today.

Howell, a junior from Rock Hill, S.C., averaged 13.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, two blocks and shot 75 percent from the floor to lead NGU to a pair of Conference Carolinas victories last week.

In a one-point 66-65 win over Emmanuel, Howell scored 13 points and pulled down eight boards in 24 minutes of action. He would have another solid performance in a 70-61 win over first-place Mount Olive, going for 14 points, seven rebounds and three blocks.


King’s Floyd Named Week 12 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.King University guard Jordan Floyd has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Jan. 22-28, the Conference announced today.

A junior from Stone Mountain, Ga., Floyd shot 50 percent from the field and averaged 25 points with 3.3 assists and 1.3 rebounds to move the Tornado into second place of the Conference Carolinas standings after going 3-0 last week.

In a 97-81 win over Erskine, Floyd scored 21 points on 7-of-14 shooting (5-9 3pt) with four dimes in 21 minutes of action. He would then notch his fifth 30-point game of the season against Barton, going 11-for-17 for 30 points on the dot and three dimes in the 95-82 victory. Floyd would close out the week with 24 points and three assists in a 79-54 win over first-place Mount Olive.


Lees-McRae’s Falls Named Week 11 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.Lees-McRae College forward Donte Falls has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Jan. 15-21, the Conference announced today.

Falls, a senior from Shelby, N.C., shot 61.9 percent from the field, including 83.3 percent from three-point range, and averaged 19.5 points with four rebounds and 2.5 assists to lead the Bobcats to two wins last week.

In a 91-81 win over Erskine, Falls poured in 21 points on 6-of-10 shooting (4-4 3pt) with five boards and three assists in 25 minutes. He followed that performance up with more hot shooting in an 88-72 win over Limestone, going 7-for-11 from the field for 18 points, three rebounds and two assists.


Mount Olive’s Tham Named Week 10 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.University of Mount Olive forward Dominique Tham has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Jan. 8-14, the Conference announced today.

A junior from Arlington, Va., Tham averaged 15.5 points, seven rebounds and two steals to lead the Trojans to a 2-0 week, including a win over rival Barton.

Tham's 18 points, 10 rebounds and four steals were a crucial part of UMO's 76-75 win over Barton, which was a battle of first-place teams in Conference Carolinas. He would follow that performance with 13 points and four rebounds in just 21 minutes of action in a 96-72 vicyoty over Southern Wesleyan.


Barton’s Stenborg Named Week 9 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.Barton College forward Bobby Stenborg has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Jan. 1-7, the Conference announced today.

Stenborg, a junior from Garner, N.C., shot 75 percent from the field and averaged 21 points, 6.5 rebounds, three assists and one steal last week to keep the Bulldogs atop of the Conference Carolinas standings.

In a 110-105 win over Lees-McRae, Stenborg posted 14 points with six boards, six dimes and two steals. The highlight of Stenborg's week would come in a 92-90 come-from-behind win over King. The forward would score a career-high 28 points, with 16 coming in the final 10 minutes, which erased a 16-point deficit for the win. Stenborg would add seven rebounds to his game total.


Lees-McRae’s Williams Named Week 8 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.Lees-McRae College guard Kamil Williams has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Dec. 25-31, the Conference announced today.

A junior from West Palm Beach, Fla., Williams had a career game for the Bobcats as they posted a 105-99 win over Anderson (S.C.) last week. In only 22 minutes, Williams scored a career-high 25 points on 6-of-10 shooting, including 4-for-8 from three-point range, and 9-for-9 from the free throw line. Williams added one rebound, one assist and one steal to his game totals.


Barton’s Buck-Lowman Named Week 7 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.Barton College forward Isaiah Buck-Lowman has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Dec. 18-24, the Conference announced today. This marks Barton's third consecutive POTW honor.

Buck-Lowman, a sophomore from Woodbridge, Va., led the Bulldogs to three-point win over Tusculum in their only action last week. The forward would score a career-high 29 points on 10-of-13 shooting, including 2-for-2 from three-point range, and 7-for-7 from the charity stripe. Buck-Lowman would add four assists, three rebounds, two steals and one block to his game totals.


Barton’s Grant Named Week 6 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.Barton College guard Zach Grant has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Dec. 11-17, the Conference announced today. This marks Barton's second straight POTW honor.

A junior from Richmond, Va., Grant propelled the Bulldogs to an 89-85 win over No. 21 nationally ranked UNC Pembroke last week. He poured in 19 points on 8-for-11 shooting, including 3-for-5 from three-point range, with three rebounds, three assists and two steals.


Barton’s Boykin Named Week 5 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.Barton College guard Michael Boykin has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Dec. 4-10, the Conference announced today.

Boykin, a sophomore from Clinton, N.C., led the Bulldogs to a 95-78 win over Emmanuel last week and has Barton in first-place of the Conference Carolinas standings. He posted 24 points to go with seven rebounds, three steals, two assists and one block to earn his first POTW honor this season.


King’s Owens Named Week 4 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.King University forward Mack Owens has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Nov. 27 - Dec. 3, the Conference announced today.

A senior from Abingdon, Va., Owens had an efficient week and led the Tornado to a 2-0 Conference record last week. He averaged a double-double of 15 points and 11.5 rebounds on a 70.6 shooting percentage.

Owens poured in 16 points and collected 12 boards in the Tornado's win over North Greenville. In the Division II Basketball Showcase on ESPN3, Owens would continue his efficient play, going 6-for-8 from the field for 14 points and snatching down 11 rebounds to lead King to a 75-57 win over Limestone.


Erskine’s Smoot Named Week 3 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.Erskine College guard Trent Smoot has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Nov. 20-26, the Conference announced today.

Smoot, a sophomore from Pasadena, Md., paced the Flying Fleet to a 70-68 overtime win over Conference foe North Greenville last week. Smoot would score all 20 of his career-high points in the second half and overtime, shooting 8-for-13 from the field and 4-for-6 from the charity stripe. He would also collect seven rebounds, one block and one assist in 35 minutes of action.


Mount Olive’s Gleaves Named Week 2 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.University of Mount Olive guard Tayon Gleaves has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Nov. 13-19, the Conference announced today.

A senior from Charlotte, N.C., Gleaves led the Trojans to two victories in their annual Pickle Classic. In the two wins, Gleaves averaged 19 points and 4.5 steals per game.

Against St. Augustine's, Gleaves posted a career high in points and steals with 27 and six, respectively, to go with three assists in a 99-84 win. In the Pickle Classic finale, Gleaves would drop 11 points and three steals to pace the Trojans to a 64-58 victory over Virginia Union.


Limestone’s Hairston Named Week 1 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.Limestone College guard Kenny Hairston has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Nov. 10-12, the Conference announced today.

Hairston, a junior from Charlotte, N.C., led the Saints to a 2-0 record over the weekend in the Conference Carolinas/South Atlantic Conference Challenge. In the two victories, Hairston averaged 23 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game.

Against Wingate, Hairston poured in 22 points on 8-for-17 shooting, including 5-for-10 from three-point range. He would add four rebounds, two assists and one steal in the 87-74 win over the Bulldogs. As an encore, Hairston would continue his hot scoring against Mars Hill, as he dropped 24 points and dished out five assists to go with three boards and two steals in a 106-92 victory.
