Barton's Wynn Named Week 14 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.Barton College forward Kianna Wynn has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Feb. 4-10, the Conference announced today. This marks the third POTW for Wynn and the fourth overall for Barton.

A senior from Knightdale, N.C., Wynn led Barton to a 2-0 record last week, which included a win over Conference Carolinas leader Belmont Abbey. Wynn shot 71.1 percent from the field and averaged a double-double for the week with 29.5 points and 10.5 rebounds to go along with 1.5 steals per game.

In a 64-58 win over Belmont Abbey, Wynn scored 23 points on 11-for-18 shooting with 10 boards and two steals for her first double-double of the week. Wynn would close out the week by shooting 16-20 from the field and 4-for-5 from the line to post 36 points with 11 rebounds and one steal in a 103-74 Senior Day win over Southern Wesleyan.


Converse's Davis Named Week 13 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.Converse College forward Nigeria Davis has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Jan. 28 - Feb. 3, the Conference announced today. This marks the first POTW for Davis and and the second overall for Converse.

Davis, a sophomore from Newberry, S.C., propelled Converse to a 3-0 record last week, which featured a pair of Conference Carolinas wins over Lees-McRae and Southern Wesleyan. She shot 58.1 percent from the field and averaged a double-double for the week with 22 points and 14 rebounds to go along with 2.3 steals per game.

In a 74-54 win over Mars Hill, Davis netted 25 points with 15 boards and three steals for her first double-double of the week. Davis would just miss a double-double in a 70-65 win over Southern Wesleyan, as she went for 23 points and nine rebounds with three steals and one assist. Davis would close out the week by narrowly missing out on a 20-20 game, posting 18 points and 18 rebounds with one steal and one assist in a 68-60 triumph over Lees-McRae.


Mount Olive's Havens Named Week 12 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.University of Mount Olive guard Felecity Havens has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Jan. 21-27, the Conference announced today. This marks both the third POTW for Havens and Mount Olive.

A senior from Lorain, Ohio, Havens was the catalyst behind Mount Olive picking up two Conference Carolinas wins last week against Limestone and Southern Wesleyan. She averaged a double-double for the week with 26.5 points and 13 rebounds to go along with one steal per game.

Havens would notch a big double-double of 42 points and 16 rebounds with one block on the way to a 78-72 victory over Limestone. In a 76-68 win over Southern Wesleyan, Havens would post another double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds with two steals.


Erskine's Scott Named Week 11 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.Erskine College center Alexis Scott has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Jan. 14-20, the Conference announced today.

Scott, a junior from Anderson, S.C., averaged 19.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals in a pair of overtime victories for Erskine over Conference Carolinas foes Converse and North Greenville.

Scott shot 70 percent (7-for-10) from the field and scored 19 points with eight boards and three steals in the Fleet's tight 75-71 victory over North Greenville. She would then score a game-high 20 points with seven rebounds and a block in an 81-72 win over Converse.


Barton's Wynn Named Week 10 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.Barton College forward Kianna Wynn has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Jan. 7-13, the Conference announced today. This marks the first POTW for Wynn and the second overall for Barton.

A senior from Knightdale, N.C., Wynn averaged 28 points, 12.5 rebounds, two assists and one steal to pace Barton to a 2-0 week in Conference Carolinas play with wins over King and North Greenville.

Wynn started her week by posting a big 35-point and 17-rebound double-double with three assists and one steal in a 72-53 win over King. She closed the week with 21 points, eight rebounds, one steal and one dime in a 63-45 league victory over North Greenville.


Mount Olive's Havens Named Week 9 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.University of Mount Olive guard Felecity Havens has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Dec. 31 - Jan. 6, the Conference announced today. This marks the second POTW for both Havens and Mount Olive.

Havens, a senior from Lorain, Ohio, averaged 26.5 points, nine rebounds, 3.5 steals and one assist to lead Mount Olive to a pair of Conference Carolinas wins over Emmanuel and North Greenville.

Havens turned in a double-double performance with 27 points and 13 rebounds to go with two steals to lead UMO to a narrow 63-60 win over Emmanuel. She would then stuff the stat sheet with 26 points, five rebounds, five steals and two assists to lead Mount Olive to a 65-49 victory over North Greenville.


King's West Named Week 8 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.King University center Kori West has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Dec. 28-30, the Conference announced today.

A junior from Shelby, N.C., West posted her seventh double-double of the season in King's lone game against Virginia-Wise last week. West scored 23 points by going 10-for-16 from the field and making three free throws. She completed her double-double by pulling down 13 rebounds to go with three blocks and two assists in King's 62-54 victory.


Belmont Abbey's Fungate Named Week 7 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.Belmont Abbey College forward Manuela Fungate has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Dec. 17-19, the Conference announced today.

Fungate, a senior from Maputo, Mozambique, led Belmont Abbey to a Conference Carolinas win in the team's lone contest last week. She would notch a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds to go with three steals and two blocks in a 74-70 victory over King.


Barton's Wynn Named Week 6 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

A senior from Knightdale, N.C., Wynn led Barton to a Conference Carolinas win over Erskine in the team's only game last week. She would score a career-high 38 points on 15-for-24 shooting from the field and 8-for-11 at the charity stripe. Wynn completed her doubel-double performance by pulling down 10 boards to go with one steal and one assist.


Emmanuel's Corliss Named Week 5 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.Emmanuel College guard Lochlain Corliss has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Dec. 3-9, the Conference announced today.

Corliss, a senior from Cumming, Ga., led the Lions to a pair of Conference Carolinas wins and stuffed the stat sheet by averaging 18 points, six assists, five rebounds and four steals per game.

In only 21 minutes in a 72-50 win over Converse, Corliss scored 12 points, dished out five helpers, collected four steals and pulled down three boards. Corliss would then only miss one shot in an 81-77 win over Barton, scoring 24 points on 8-for-9 shooting, including 2-for-2 three-point shooting and 6-for-6 from the free throw line. Corliss would add seven rebounds, seven assists and four steals to her game totals.


Mount Olive's Havens Named Week 4 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.University of Mount Olive guard Felecity Havens has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Nov. 26 - Dec. 2, the Conference announced today.

A senior from Lorain, Ohio, Havens had a big week for the Trojans, averaging 42 points on 59.6% shooting with 9.5 rebounds, 1.5 blocks and 1.5 assists per game in a pair of wins.

In an 88-83 win over Francis Marion, Havens broke a 22-year-old Mount Olive record when she scored 49 points on 17-for-27 shooting, including 4-for-6 from three-point range and 11-for-14 from the charity stripe. She would register a double-double in the game with 10 boards to go with two assists, one steal and one block.

Havens would follow up her performance with a 35-point outing in a 69-67 win in Mount Olive conference opener against King. She would go 14-for-25 from the field, including 3-for-5 from three and 4-for-4 from the freethrow line. Havens would add nine rebounds, three steals, two blocks and one assist to her game totals.


Barton's Peterkin Named Week 3 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.Barton College center Shanika Peterkin has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Nov. 19-25, the Conference announced today.

Peterkin, a sophomore from Virginia Beach, Va., had a big game for Barton in a 63-58 win over Elizabeth City in its lone contest last week. She notched 12 points, 14 rebounds and 11 blocks to go with three assists and two steals to collect her second career triple-double in the victory.


Lees-McRae's Crawford Named Week 2 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.Lees-McRae College forward Meg Crawford has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Nov. 12-18, the Conference announced today.

A sophomore from Blountville, Tenn., Crawford led the Bobcats to an 83-74 win over Livingstone in their lone game last week. She would score 27 points on 11-for-15 shooting from the field and 5-for-6 from the charity stripe. Crawford would secure a double-double by grabbing 12 boards and also swatted away three shots in the contest.


Converse's Lewis Named Week 1 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.Converse College forward Abigail Lewis has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Nov. 9-11, the Conference announced today.

Lewis, a senior from Savannah, Ga., paced the Valkyries to a 74-55 season-opening win over Mars Hill. In just 25 minutes of action she would pour in 20 points on 7-for-11 shooting from the field and 6-for-10 from the charity stripe. Lewis would also add eight rebounds, one assist and one steal to lead the team to the victory.
